2026-06-03futex: Move futex task related data into a structThomas Gleixner
Having all these members in task_struct along with the required #ifdeffery is annoying, does not allow efficient initializing of the data with memset() and makes extending it tedious. 2026-06-03dt-bindings: timer: arm,arch_timer: Fix requirements for interrupt descriptionMarc Zyngier
The arm,arch_timer DT binding is extremely imprecise in describing the requirements for interrupts. Follow the architecture by making it explicit that: - the EL1 secure timer irq is required if EL3 is implemented - the EL1 physical timer irq is always required - the EL1 virtual timer irq is always required - the EL2 physical timer irq is required if EL2 is implemented - the EL2 virtual timer irq is required if FEAT_VHE is implemented The consequence of the above is that the minimum number of interrupts to be described is 2, and not 1. Finally, clean up the description which made the assumption that the timers are plugged into a GIC (unfortunately, that's not always true), drop the MMIO nonsense that has long be moved to a separate binding, and use the architectural terminology to describe the various interrupts. 2026-06-03wifi: rtw89: usb: add serial_number and uuid sysfs attributes for 0x28de:0x2432Johnson Tsai
Expose the device's Serial Number (SN) and UUID from EFUSE via two read-only sysfs attributes, `serial_number` and `uuid`, on the ieee80211 phy device under the `rtw89_usb` attribute group. This hardware identification information is essential for user-space applications to uniquely identify, track, and manage specific Wi-Fi adapters. For example, in automated factory provisioning or device management systems, user-space tools rely on the EFUSE serial number and UUID to bind configurations to specific physical adapters. Currently, standard wireless APIs do not expose this low-level hardware information, making these sysfs nodes the only viable solution for user space to extract this data. The attributes are gated behind a new RTW89_QUIRK_HW_INFO_SYSFS quirk, enabled only for the VID 0x28de / PID 0x2432 device via the dev_id_quirks field in rtw89_driver_info. 2026-06-02mm/hugetlb_cma: restrict hugetlb_cma parameter to gigantic-page alignmentSang-Heon Jeon
Existing hugetlb_cma parameter handling logic rejects sizes smaller than one gigantic page, but rounds up larger sizes that are not a multiple of it. The two behaviors are inconsistent and neither is documented. To remove existing inconsistent and undefined behavior, restrict hugetlb_cma parameter to only accept multiples of the gigantic page size. After this restriction, the redundant round_up() in the allocation loop can be removed. The new restriction is also documented in kernel-parameters.txt. RK3588 eDP controller requires HCLK_VO1 to access the VO1 GRF registers and enable the video datapath. Previously, the clock was enabled implicitly via the 'rockchip,vo-grf' phandle reference, which allowed the eDP to work without explicitly managing the hclk_vo1 clock. However, this is not safe or explicit. To make the clock dependency explicit, enforce per-SoC clock-names requirements: - RK3288: 2 clocks (dp, pclk) - RK3399: 3 clocks (dp, pclk, grf) - RK3588: 3 clocks (dp, pclk, hclk) Do not reuse the 'grf' clock name for RK3588 because it represents a different clock with distinct control logic: - The 'grf' clock is only for GRF register access and is toggled dynamically during register access. - The 'hclk' clock controls both GRF access and video datapath gating, and must remain enabled during probe. Add syntax to the parsing of eprobes to be able to typecast a trace event field that is a pointer to a structure. Currently, a dereference must be a number, where the user has to figure out manually the offset of a member of a structure that they want to dereference. But for event probes that records a field that happens to be a pointer to a structure, it cannot dereference these values with BTF naming, but must use numerical offsets. 2026-06-01nvdimm/btt: Handle preemption in BTT lane acquisitionAlison Schofield
BTT lanes serialize access to per-lane metadata and workspace state during BTT I/O. The btt-check unit test reports data mismatches during BTT writes due to a race in lane acquisition that can lead to silent data corruption. The existing lane model uses a spinlock together with a per-CPU recursion count. That recursion model stopped being valid after BTT lanes became preemptible: another task can run on the same CPU, observe a non-zero recursion count, bypass locking, and use the same lane concurrently. BTT lanes are also held across arena_write_bytes() calls. That path reaches nsio_rw_bytes(), which flushes writes with nvdimm_flush(). Some provider flush callbacks can sleep, making a spinlock the wrong primitive for the lane lifetime. Replace the spinlock-based recursion model with a dynamically allocated per-lane mutex array and take the lane lock unconditionally. Add might_sleep() to catch any future atomic-context caller. Found with the ndctl unit test btt-check.sh.
