Fix the Ethernet PHY description on the DART-MX9 Sonata boards.
The GPIO previously described as the PHY reset line is actually a
board-level enable signal required by the PHY. Model it accordingly and
remove the incorrect reset GPIO description from the PHY nodes.
On i.MX91 and i.MX93 the signal is described as a fixed regulator,
whereas the existing regulator description on i.MX95 is reused.
Keeping the PHY enable asserted during boot ensures that Ethernet
initialization completes successfully.

The trace_kvm_inj_exception tracepoint takes as arguments the exception
vector, whether the exception has an error code (and subsequently, the
error code), and whether it is being reinjected. Because '0' is a valid
error code, KVM uses __print_symbolic() to format the error code as a
string to avoid printing the error code entirely if the exception doesn't
have an error code (see commit 21d4c575eb4a ("KVM: x86: Print error code
in exception injection tracepoint iff valid").
KVM's abuse of __print_symbolic() was all fine and dandy, until commit
754e38d2d1ae ("tracing: Use explicit array size instead of sentinel
elements in symbol printing") reworked the printing to avoid terminating
the arrays with NULL/0 values, and missed KVM's clever use of not-quite
empty array of symbols.

All config and core registers of the KVM RISC-V ONE_REG interface are
expected to be always available to the KVM user-space and the KVM
get-reg-list selftest assumes these registers to be as base registers.
Currently, the Zicbo[m|z|p] block size config registers are only
available when corresponding ISA extension is present on the host
which breaks the above expectation. In fact, KVM get-reg-list selftest
fails when any of the Zicbo[m|z|p] ISA extension is not present on
host. To address this issue, drop the ISA extension checks from
kvm_riscv_vcpu_get/set_reg_config() and copy_config_reg_indices()
functions.

The gstage_tlb_flush() in the kvm_riscv_gstage_set_pte() is not needed
when an invalid G-stage PTE becomes valid and Svvptc extension is available
because new valid PTEs become visible to the page-table walker within a
bounded time.

The PMU SBI handler passes the guest argument registers directly to
the PMU start/stop helpers:
kvm_riscv_vcpu_pmu_ctr_start(vcpu, cp->a0, cp->a1, cp->a2, ...)
kvm_riscv_vcpu_pmu_ctr_stop(vcpu, cp->a0, cp->a1, cp->a2, ...)
which map to:
unsigned long ctr_base
unsigned long ctr_mask
unsigned long flags
Thus cp->a1 is a single unsigned long ctr_mask, not a bitmap array
sized for RISCV_MAX_COUNTERS.
On RV32, RISCV_MAX_COUNTERS is 64 while BITS_PER_LONG is 32. Using
for_each_set_bit() with RISCV_MAX_COUNTERS can therefore make
find_next_bit() access bits beyond the storage of ctr_mask on RV32.
Limit the scan to BITS_PER_LONG. The requested counter range is already
validated by kvm_pmu_validate_counter_mask(), so this preserves RV64
behavior and avoids an out-of-bounds bitmap read on RV32.

spufs_mem_mmap_access() computes the local store offset as
address - vma->vm_start, but bounds-checks it against vma->vm_end
instead of the local store size. On 64-bit, offset is always well
below vma->vm_end, so the clamp never fires and len stays unbounded
against the LS_SIZE buffer returned by ctx->ops->get_ls().
Reject offsets at or beyond LS_SIZE and clamp len to the remaining
space, mirroring the guard already used by spufs_mem_mmap_fault() and
spufs_ps_fault().

kvm_sbi_fwft_set() applies the caller's flags to conf->flags before
invoking the set() callback. If the callback returns an error, the LOCK
bit persists and the feature becomes permanently locked without its value
ever being changed.
Move the flags assignment after the callback so LOCK takes effect only
on success.

kvm_riscv_mmu_ioremap() currently tops up its on-stack page-table
cache via kvm_mmu_topup_memory_cache(), which allocates up to
KVM_ARCH_NR_OBJS_PER_MEMORY_CACHE (32) objects per topup.
ioremap only consumes non-leaf page-table pages, at most
pgd_levels - 1 (1 to 4) per call, and for contiguous mappings
within the same huge page the non-leaf pages are allocated once
and reused by subsequent pages. Topping up to 32 objects therefore
triggers many unnecessary GFP_KERNEL_ACCOUNT allocations on every
call, all of which are freed when the function returns. In hot
paths (such as vCPU migration), this creates avoidable allocator
churn and wastes CPU cycles.
Use __kvm_mmu_topup_memory_cache() with a capacity of pgd_levels so
the on-stack cache is sized to the maximum demand of a single
mapping. This removes the redundant allocations and reduces per-call
overhead without changing behavior.

Add initial devicetree support for Samsung smdk board using
Exynos8855 SoC.
This SoC has Octa-core CPU with tri cluster architecture, a custom GPU
and a NPU supporting up to 14.7 TOPS apart from other supporting peripheral
and IPs.
Commercially this SoC is also known as Exynos1580 [1]

The board consists of a CLRV1126F core module and a DLRV1126 carrier
board. The core module contains the RV1126 SoC, eMMC and RK809 PMIC,
while the carrier board provides Ethernet, SD card, AP6212 WiFi and
Bluetooth, PCF8563 RTC, ADC keys, GPIO LEDs and audio connectors.
The board has been tested with Ethernet/NFS boot, eMMC, SD card, SDIO
WiFi enumeration, Bluetooth LE scanning, RTC, ADC keys, GPIO LEDs and
RK809 audio card registration.

Converting from int to long, back to int and then to unsigned int is
confusing at best.
None of this voodoo is required. Negative syscall numbers including -1
don't need any of this treatment and the low level ASM code already does
the sign extension to 64-bit on a 64-bit kernel.
The only point where signedness matters is the comparison against the
maximum syscall number, but that can be simplified by just using a unsigned
argument for the various syscall invocation functions.

Invoking sys_ni_syscall() from a code path, which already knows that the
syscall number is invalid just to assign -ENOSYS to regs->ax is a pointless
exercise. It's even redundant as the low level entry code already has set
regs->ax to -ENOSYS on entry.
Remove the extra conditionals and the function calls.

The return value of __secure_computing() currently uses 0 to indicate
that a system call should be allowed, and -1 to indicate that it should
be blocked/killed. This 0/-1 pattern is non-intuitive for a security
check function and makes the control flow at the call sites less readable.
Furthermore, any potential future changes to these return values would
require a high-risk, error-prone audit of all its users across different
architectures.
Sanitize this logic by converting the return type of __secure_computing()
to a proper boolean, where 'true' explicitly means 'allow' and 'false'
means 'fail/deny'.
Update all the two dozen or so call sites across the tree to align with
this new boolean semantic. No functional changes are intended, as the
callers still return -1 to the lower-level assembly entry code upon
seccomp denial.
Rename the function to __seccomp_permit_syscall() so that the purpose is
entirely clear.

These functions integrate the stack randomization.
syscall_enter_from_user_mode_randomize_stack() has the advantage that the
randomization happens early right after enter_from_user_mode().
In both cases also the overhead of get/put_cpu_var() in
add_random_kstack_offset() is avoided.

The advantage is that it applies the stack randomization right after
enter_from_user_mode() and thereby avoids the overhead of get/put_cpu_var()

add_random_kstack_offset() is invoked before syscall_enter_from_user_mode()
establishes state. That's wrong because add_random_kstack_offset() calls
into instrumentable code.
Move it after syscall_enter_from_user_mode() to ensure that state is
correctly established.

cmdline_find_option() returns the full length of the parsed acpi_rsdp=
value. get_cmdline_acpi_rsdp() then silently truncates values which do
not fit in the val[] buffer.
Prevent boot_kstrtoul() from parsing a truncated value and then the
kernel from silently using the wrong RSDP address, see discussion in
Link:.
Issue a warning so that the user is aware that s/he supplied a malformed
value and can get feedback instead of silent crashes.

A user-only branch stack can contain branches that originate from
the kernel. As a result, kernel addresses are exposed to user space
even when PERF_SAMPLE_BRANCH_USER is requested. On AMD processors
supporting X86_FEATURE_BRS (Zen 3 only), perf can still report entries
such as SYSRET/interrupt returns for which the branch-from addresses
are in the kernel.

BRS provides no hardware branch filtering, so privilege level
filtering is performed entirely in software. However, amd_brs_match_plm()
only validates the branch-to address against the requested privilege
levels. For branches from the kernel to user space, the branch-from
address is left unchecked and is leaked. Extend the software filter to
also validate the branch-from address, so that any branch record whose
branch-from address is in the kernel is dropped when
PERF_SAMPLE_BRANCH_USER is requested.

Add the device tree node of SDHCI-0 controller which found on CoM260-IFX
board, it's currenty used for Micro SD card slot, and one GPIO pin is
configured as card insertion/removal detection pin, the slot use 4-bit
data bus, and up support to SDR104 speed mode.

arc_get_cpu_map() fetches the possible-cpus or present-cpus property
from the flat DT and immediately passes the raw pointer to
cpulist_parse(). That parser expects a NUL-terminated text buffer, but
this path does not prove that the DT property is terminated within its
declared bounds.
Reject unterminated CPU-map properties before handing them to
cpulist_parse().

Only one machine remains supported and was kept in 2022 for the
Debian_on_Buffalo project that was still using this, with plans to
convert it to devicetree.
The conversion never happened, and Debian_on_Buffalo does not provide
kernels later than linux-6.1, so it is unlikely to still be useful
for a DT conversion in the future.
Mark the platform for deprecation after the next LTS kernel, which
should give any remaining users a few more years of bugfixes.

The Axxia platform was initially upstream by Anders Berg for LSI and
later Avago, but this included only support for I2C and reset drivers,
while most of the interesting bits (network, pci, rapidio, usb, ...) or
the arm64 platform support were never merged.
The downstream kernel was maintained by Intel up to linux-5.15 when
the product line was discontinued. Known users include Nokia and
Ericsson, but both of them use kernels derived from the out-of-tree
drivers rather than the upstream version, and will be able to continue
doing that even when the rudimentary mainline support is gone.
Mark it as deprecated for removal after the next LTS kernel.

The Cortex-M3/M4/M7 cores were designed as a replacement for the earlier
ARM7TDMI and ARM9TDMI microarchitectures used in older microcontrollers.
At the moment, Linux can run these cores either when they are integrated
into a larger SoC, or as standalone microcontrollers. While there was
a lot of development work going into Cortex-M support from 2011 to 2016,
this largely stopped when it became clear that Zephyr and other RTOS
had taken over that market. To date, the only Cortex-M based based
microcontroller boards supported upstream are reference implementations.
Schedule these for removal after the next LTS kernel, so if any users
remain that want to update their kernels, they can stay on that
version for a few years before having to maintain the platform support
out of tree.

pci_legacy_write() in arch/alpha/kernel/pci-sysfs.c passes its arguments to
outb(), outw() and outl() in the wrong order:
outb(port, val);
The Alpha I/O accessors in arch/alpha/include/asm/io.h take the value first
and the port second:
extern void outb(u8 b, unsigned long port);
So the port number is written as data to the I/O address taken from the
user-supplied value, and the intended write to the requested port never
happens.
The arguments have been reversed since the file was added, and the function
returns the access size regardless, so the caller sees success while the
requested port is left untouched.

Replace legacy gpio_request() calls used to configure function pins
(SCIF0 TXD/RXD and LAN9118 IRQ) with software nodes describing GPIO
hogs. These hogs are attached to the PFC gpiochip node, allowing the
GPIO subsystem to automatically configure these pins when the driver is
registered.

Convert the board to use static device properties instead of platform
data to describe LEDs and GPIO-connected buttons on the board, so
that support for platform data can be removed from gpio-keys and other
drivers, unifying their behavior.
