Since commit 4ba4f1afb6a9 ("perf: Generic hotplug support for a PMU with
a scope"), there's generic support for system-wide counters and
integration with cpu hotplug.
The i915 counters are system-wide, even though the migration code
is using the wrong topology mask:
target = cpumask_any_but(topology_sibling_cpumask(cpu), cpu);
So one could think the counter has core scope rather than system scope,
which is not the case. That was never caught in tests since they would
disable just one cpu at a time. After the removal of hotpluggable CPU0
in commit 5475abbde77f ("x86/smpboot: Remove the CPU0 hotplug kludge")
and commit e59e74dc48a3 ("x86/topology: Remove CPU0 hotplug option")
this became essentially non-testable for our systems.
Using the generic hotplug code, the same cpu0 is still reported in
cpumask - only if it was possible to unplug it, it would migrate to
another cpu, so there isn't much a change in behavior.
The one thing that changes is the return code for perf_event_open() if
an invalid cpu is used: previously i915 would return -EINVAL, but
generic perf code returns -ENODEV. That should be ok for all the users
and not cause breakages.

Enabling and disabling of DMC wakelock is already coupled with enabling
and disabling of dynamic DC states, which already depend on the DMC
being properly loaded. As such, we do not need to check if we already
have a DMC payload parsed in __intel_dmc_wl_supported().
Furthermore, the presence of such a check causes inconsistencies in the
refcount if the following sequence of events happen:
1. A call to one of the register accessors from intel_de.h is done
before the DMC payload is parsed. That causes intel_dmc_wl_get() to
be called. Suppose the register offset qualifies as needing the
wakelock.
In normal circumstances, the refcount would be incremented, but,
because __intel_dmc_wl_supported() returns false, the refcount is
untouched.
2. In a separate worker thread, the DMC firmware is parsed. Parsing of
the DMC payload is finished before the corresponding
intel_dmc_wl_put() from (1) is called.
3. When in the context of (1), intel_dmc_wl_put() gets called, now we
have __intel_dmc_wl_supported() returning true and we hit the
warning, because the code doesn't expect a zero refcount.
Let's remove that check, since it is unnecessary and causes the
inconsistency illustrated above.

intel_dp_mtp_tu_compute_config() conversion to use .4 fixed point didn't
take into account that intel_dp_mst_max_dpt_bpp() may return INT_MAX
when the transport limitation is not relevant. Converting INT_MAX to .4
fixed point results in -1.0, which then gets used as if it were a real
max BPP value:
i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm:intel_dp_mtp_tu_compute_config [i915]] Limiting bpp to max DPT bpp (24.0000 -> -1.0000)

The PXP implementation mimics the i915 approach of allowing the load
to continue even if PXP init has failed. On Xe however we're taking an
harder stance on boot error and only allowing the load to complete if
everything is working, so update the code to fail if anything goes wrong
during PXP init.
While at it, update the return code in case of PXP not supported to be 0
instead of EOPNOTSUPP, to follow the standard of functions called by
xe_device_probe where every non-zero value means failure.

Currently, there are several files in drm/amd/display that aim to have a
higher -Wframe-larger-than value to avoid instances of that warning with
a lower value from the user's configuration. However, with the way that
it is currently implemented, it does not respect the user's request via
CONFIG_FRAME_WARN for a higher stack frame limit, which can cause pain
when new instances of the warning appear and break the build due to
CONFIG_WERROR.
Adjust the logic to switch from a hard coded -Wframe-larger-than value
to only using the value as a minimum clamp and deferring to the
requested value from CONFIG_FRAME_WARN if it is higher.

Commit 1c56e9a39833 ("drm/i915/dp: Get optimal link config to have best
compressed bpp") tries to find the best compressed bpp for the
link. However, it iterates from max to min bpp on display 13+, and from
min to max on other platforms. This presumably leads to minimum
compressed bpp always being chosen on display 11-12.
Iterate from high to low on all platforms to actually use the best
possible compressed bpp.

The driver needs to know if a BO is encrypted with PXP to enable the
display decryption at flip time.
Furthermore, we want to keep track of the status of the encryption and
reject any operation that involves a BO that is encrypted using an old
key. There are two points in time where such checks can kick in:
1 - at VM bind time, all operations except for unmapping will be
rejected if the key used to encrypt the BO is no longer valid. This
check is opt-in via a new VM_BIND flag, to avoid a scenario where a
malicious app purposely shares an invalid BO with a non-PXP aware
app (such as a compositor). If the VM_BIND was failed, the
compositor would be unable to display anything at all. Allowing the
bind to go through means that output still works, it just displays
garbage data within the bounds of the illegal BO.
2 - at job submission time, if the queue is marked as using PXP, all
objects bound to the VM will be checked and the submission will be
rejected if any of them was encrypted with a key that is no longer
valid.
Note that there is no risk of leaking the encrypted data if a user does
not opt-in to those checks; the only consequence is that the user will
not realize that the encryption key is changed and that the data is no
longer valid.

PXP prerequisites (SW proxy and HuC auth via GSC) are completed
asynchronously from driver load, which means that userspace can start
submitting before we're ready to start a PXP session. Therefore, we need
a query that userspace can use to check not only if PXP is supported but
also to wait until the prerequisites are done.

Userspace is required to mark a queue as using PXP to guarantee that the
PXP instructions will work. In addition to managing the PXP sessions,
when a PXP queue is created the driver will set the relevant bits in
its context control register.
On submission of a valid PXP queue, the driver will validate all
encrypted objects mapped to the VM to ensured they were encrypted with
the current key.

We expect every queue that uses PXP to be marked as doing so, to allow
the driver to correctly manage the encryption status. The API for doing
this from userspace is coming in the next patch, while this patch
implement the management side of things. When a PXP queue is created,
the driver will do the following:
- Start the default PXP session if it is not already running;
- assign an rpm ref to the queue to keep for its lifetime (this is
required because PXP HWDRM sessions are killed by the HW suspend flow).
Since PXP start and termination can race each other, this patch also
introduces locking and a state machine to keep track of the pending
operations. Note that since we'll need to take the lock from the
suspend/resume paths as well, we can't do submissions while holding it,
which means we need a slightly more complicated state machine to keep
track of intermediate steps.
