2026-04-10Bluetooth: btusb: Add Lite-On 04ca:3807 for MediaTek MT7921Dylan Eray
Add USB device ID (04ca:3807) for a Lite-On Wireless_Device containing a MediaTek MT7921 (MT7920) Bluetooth chipset found in Acer laptops. Without this entry, btusb binds via the generic USB class-based wildcard match but never sets the BTUSB_MEDIATEK flag. 2026-04-10Bluetooth: hci_qca: Fix BT not getting powered-off on rmmodHans de Goede
The BT core skips calling the hci_dev's shutdown method when the HCI is unregistered. This means that qca_power_off() was not getting called leaving BT powered on. This causes regulators / pwrseq providers to not get disabled which also causes problem when re-loading the module because regulators and pwrseq providers have an enablecount which now has never dropped to 0, causing the BT to not get properly reset between rmmod and re-load which causes initialization failure on the re-load. Fix this by calling qca_power_off() from qca_close() when BT has not already been powered off through a qca_hci_shutdown() call. hci_ldisc.c will call qca_close() after freeing the hdev, so this means that qca_power_off() can now no longer deref hu->hdev, change the logging in qca_power_off() to no longer use hu->hdev. 2026-04-01Bluetooth: hci_h4: Fix race during initializationJonathan Rissanen
Commit 5df5dafc171b ("Bluetooth: hci_uart: Fix another race during initialization") fixed a race for hci commands sent during initialization. However, there is still a race that happens if an hci event from one of these commands is received before HCI_UART_REGISTERED has been set at the end of hci_uart_register_dev(). The event will be ignored which causes the command to fail with a timeout in the log: "Bluetooth: hci0: command 0x1003 tx timeout" This is because the hci event receive path (hci_uart_tty_receive -> h4_recv) requires HCI_UART_REGISTERED to be set in h4_recv(), while the hci command transmit path (hci_uart_send_frame -> h4_enqueue) only requires HCI_UART_PROTO_INIT to be set in hci_uart_send_frame(). The check for HCI_UART_REGISTERED was originally added in commit c2578202919a ("Bluetooth: Fix H4 crash from incoming UART packets") to fix a crash caused by hu->hdev being null dereferenced. That can no longer happen: once HCI_UART_PROTO_INIT is set in hci_uart_register_dev() all pointers (hu, hu->priv and hu->hdev) are valid, and hci_uart_tty_receive() already calls h4_recv() on HCI_UART_PROTO_INIT or HCI_UART_PROTO_READY. Remove the check for HCI_UART_REGISTERED in h4_recv() to fix the race condition. 2026-03-25Bluetooth: btusb: clamp SCO altsetting table indicesPengpeng Hou
btusb_work() maps the number of active SCO links to USB alternate settings through a three-entry lookup table when CVSD traffic uses transparent voice settings. The lookup currently indexes alts[] with data->sco_num - 1 without first constraining sco_num to the number of available table entries. While the table only defines alternate settings for up to three SCO links, data->sco_num comes from hci_conn_num() and is used directly. Cap the lookup to the last table entry before indexing it so the driver keeps selecting the highest supported alternate setting without reading past alts[]. 2026-03-25Bluetooth: btintel: serialize btintel_hw_error() with hci_req_sync_lockCen Zhang
btintel_hw_error() issues two __hci_cmd_sync() calls (HCI_OP_RESET and Intel exception-info retrieval) without holding hci_req_sync_lock(). This lets it race against hci_dev_do_close() -> btintel_shutdown_combined(), which also runs __hci_cmd_sync() under the same lock. When both paths manipulate hdev->req_status/req_rsp concurrently, the close path may free the response skb first, and the still-running hw_error path hits a slab-use-after-free in kfree_skb(). Wrap the whole recovery sequence in hci_req_sync_lock/unlock so it is serialized with every other synchronous HCI command issuer. 2026-02-21Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argumentLinus Torvalds

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered: they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-next Pull networking updates from Paolo Abeni: "Core & protocols: - A significant effort all around the stack to guide the compiler to make the right choice when inlining code, to avoid unneeded calls for small helper and stack canary overhead in the fast-path. This generates better and faster code with very small or no text size increases, as in many cases the call generated more code than the actual inlined helper. - Extend AccECN implementation so that is now functionally complete, also allow the user-space enabling it on a per network namespace basis. - Add support for memory providers with large (above 4K) rx buffer. Paired with hw-gro, larger rx buffer sizes reduce the number of buffers traversing the stack, dincreasing single stream CPU usage by up to ~30%. - Do not add HBH header to Big TCP GSO packets. This simplifies the RX path, the TX path and the NIC drivers, and is possible because user-space taps can now interpret correctly such packets without the HBH hint. - Allow IPv6 routes to be configured with a gateway address that is resolved out of a different interface than the one specified, aligning IPv6 to IPv4 behavior. - Multi-queue aware sch_cake. This makes it possible to scale the rate shaper of sch_cake across multiple CPUs, while still enforcing a single global rate on the interface. - Add support for the nbcon (new buffer console) infrastructure to netconsole, enabling lock-free, priority-based console operations that are safer in crash scenarios. - Improve the TCP ipv6 output path to cache the flow information, saving cpu cycles, reducing cache line misses and stack use. - Improve netfilter packet tracker to resolve clashes for most protocols, avoiding unneeded drops on rare occasions. - Add IP6IP6 tunneling acceleration to the flowtable infrastructure. - Reduce tcp socket size by one cache line. - Notify neighbour changes atomically, avoiding inconsistencies between the notification sequence and the actual states sequence. - Add vsock namespace support, allowing complete isolation of vsocks across different network namespaces. - Improve xsk generic performances with cache-alignment-oriented optimizations. - Support netconsole automatic target recovery, allowing netconsole to reestablish targets when underlying low-level interface comes back online. 2026-02-01Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: Use IRQF_ONESHOT and default primary handlerSebastian Andrzej Siewior
There is no added value in btintel_pcie_msix_isr() compared to irq_default_primary_handler(). Using a threaded interrupt without a dedicated primary handler mandates the IRQF_ONESHOT flag to mask the interrupt source while the threaded handler is active. Otherwise the interrupt can fire again before the threaded handler had a chance to run. Use the default primary interrupt handler by specifying NULL and set IRQF_ONESHOT so the interrupt source is masked until the secondary handler is done. 2026-01-29Bluetooth: hci_uart: fix null-ptr-deref in hci_uart_write_workJia-Hong Su
hci_uart_set_proto() sets HCI_UART_PROTO_INIT before calling hci_uart_register_dev(), which calls proto->open() to initialize hu->priv. However, if a TTY write wakeup occurs during this window, hci_uart_tx_wakeup() may schedule write_work before hu->priv is initialized, leading to a NULL pointer dereference in hci_uart_write_work() when proto->dequeue() accesses hu->priv. The race condition is: CPU0 CPU1 ---- ---- hci_uart_set_proto() set_bit(HCI_UART_PROTO_INIT) hci_uart_register_dev() tty write wakeup hci_uart_tty_wakeup() hci_uart_tx_wakeup() schedule_work(&hu->write_work) proto->open(hu) // initializes hu->priv hci_uart_write_work() hci_uart_dequeue() proto->dequeue(hu) // accesses hu->priv (NULL!) Fix this by moving set_bit(HCI_UART_PROTO_INIT) after proto->open() succeeds, ensuring hu->priv is initialized before any work can be scheduled.
