2026-01-29dpll: expose fractional frequency offset in pptIvan Vecera
Currently, the dpll subsystem exports the fractional frequency offset (FFO) in parts per million (ppm). This granularity is insufficient for high-precision synchronization scenarios which often require parts per trillion (ppt) resolution. Add a new netlink attribute DPLL_A_PIN_FRACTIONAL_FREQUENCY_OFFSET_PPT to expose the FFO in ppt. Update the dpll netlink core to expect the driver-provided FFO value to be in ppt. To maintain backward compatibility with existing userspace tools, populate the legacy DPLL_A_PIN_FRACTIONAL_FREQUENCY_OFFSET attribute by dividing the new ppt value by 1,000,000. Update the zl3073x and mlx5 drivers to provide the FFO value in ppt: - zl3073x: adjust the fixed-point calculation to produce ppt (10^12) instead of ppm (10^6). - mlx5: scale the existing ppm value by 1,000,000. 2026-01-28net/mlx5e: Skip ESN replay window setup for IPsec crypto offloadJianbo Liu
Commit a5e400a985df ("net/mlx5e: Honor user choice of IPsec replay window size") introduced logic to setup the ESN replay window size. This logic is only valid for packet offload. However, the check to skip this block only covered outbound offloads. It was not skipped for crypto offload, causing it to fall through to the new switch statement and trigger its WARN_ON default case (for instance, if a window larger than 256 bits was configured). Fix this by amending the condition to also skip the replay window setup if the offload type is not XFRM_DEV_OFFLOAD_PACKET. HCA CAP structure is allocated in mlx5_hca_caps_alloc(). mlx5_mdev_init() mlx5_hca_caps_alloc() And HCA CAP is read from the device in mlx5_init_one(). The vhca_id's debugfs file is published even before above two operations are done. Due to this when user reads the vhca id before the initialization, following call trace is observed. Fix this by deferring debugfs publication until the HCA CAP is allocated and read from the device. 2026-01-28net: phy: micrel: fix clk warning when removing the driverWei Fang
Since the commit 25c6a5ab151f ("net: phy: micrel: Dynamically control external clock of KSZ PHY"), the clock of Micrel PHY has been enabled by phy_driver::resume() and disabled by phy_driver::suspend(). However, devm_clk_get_optional_enabled() is used in kszphy_probe(), so the clock will automatically be disabled when the device is unbound from the bus. Therefore, this could cause the clock to be disabled twice, resulting in clk driver warnings. 2026-01-28net: ethernet: neterion: s2io: remove unused driverEthan Nelson-Moore
The s2io driver supports Exar (formerly Neterion and S2io) PCI-X 10 Gigabit Ethernet cards. Hardware supporting PCI-X has not been manufactured in years. On x86, it was quickly replaced by PCIe. While it stuck around longer on POWER hardware, the last POWER hardware to support it was POWER7, which is not supported by ppc64le Linux distributions. The last supported mainstream ppc64 Linux distribution was RHEL 7; while it is still supported under ELS, ELS is only available for x86 and IBM Z. It is possible to use many PCI-X cards in standard PCI slots (which are still available on new motherboards), but it does not make sense to do so for 10 Gigabit Ethernet because the maximum bandwidth of standard PCI is only 1067 Mbps. It is therefore highly unlikely that this driver is still being used. Remove the driver, and move the former maintainer to the CREDITS file (restoring credit for the vxge driver, which was removed in commit f05643a0f60b ("eth: remove neterion/vxge"). 2026-01-28declance: Remove IRQF_ONESHOTSebastian Andrzej Siewior
Passing IRQF_ONESHOT ensures that the interrupt source is masked until the secondary (threaded) handler is done. If only a primary handler is used then the flag makes no sense because the interrupt can not fire (again) while its handler is running. The flag also disallows force-threading of the primary handler and the irq-core will warn about this as of commit aef30c8d569c0 ("genirq: Warn about using IRQF_ONESHOT without a threaded handler"). The IRQF_ONESHOT flag was added in commit 0fabe1021f8bc ("MIPS: DECstation I/O ASIC DMA interrupt classes"). It moved clear_ioasic_dma_irq() from the driver into the irq-chip. For EOI interrupts the clear_ioasic_dma_irq() callback is now invoked as ->irq_eoi() which is invoked after the IRQ was handled while the interrupt is masked due to IRQF_ONESHOT. Without IRQF_ONESHOT it would be invoked while interrupt is unmasked (but interrupts are disabled). If it is *required* to invoke EOI-ack while the interrupt is masked (and not a misunderstanding) due to irq-chip cascading/ hierarchical reasons then using handle_fasteoi_mask_irq() as flow-handler would be the right way to do so. 2026-01-28wifi: rtw89: get designated link to replace link instance 0Zong-Zhe Yang
Clean up some places where still to get link instance 0 directly. Since now MLSR switch is supported, it's not guaranteed to always run on link instance 0. So, prefer to get designated link in most cases. For now, the only exception is MCC (multi-channel concurrency) case. How to fill content of its H2C command depends on how to choose link instance, so cannot simply change it as above. Will handle MCC case separately afterwards. 2026-01-27gve: fix probe failure if clock read failsJordan Rhee
If timestamping is supported, GVE reads the clock during probe, which can fail for various reasons. Previously, this failure would abort the driver probe, rendering the device unusable. This behavior has been observed on production GCP VMs, causing driver initialization to fail completely. This patch allows the driver to degrade gracefully. If gve_init_clock() fails, it logs a warning and continues loading the driver without PTP support. 2026-01-27ice: stop counting UDP csum mismatch as rx_errorsJesse Brandeburg
Since the beginning, the Intel ice driver has counted receive checksum offload mismatches into the rx_errors member of the rtnl_link_stats64 struct. In ethtool -S these show up as rx_csum_bad.nic. I believe counting these in rx_errors is fundamentally wrong, as it's pretty clear from the comments in if_link.h and from every other statistic the driver is summing into rx_errors, that all of them would cause a "hardware drop" except for the UDP checksum mismatch, as well as the fact that all the other causes for rx_errors are L2 reasons, and this L4 UDP "mismatch" is an outlier. A last nail in the coffin is that rx_errors is monitored in production and can indicate a bad NIC/cable/Switch port, but instead some random series of UDP packets with bad checksums will now trigger this alert. This false positive makes the alert useless and affects us as well as other companies. This packet with presumably a bad UDP checksum is *already* passed to the stack, just not marked as offloaded by the hardware/driver. If it is dropped by the stack it will show up as UDP_MIB_CSUMERRORS. And one more thing, none of the other Intel drivers, and at least bnxt_en and mlx5 both don't appear to count UDP offload mismatches as rx_errors. The driver currently tests for the gmac2phy instance by checking bsp_priv->integrated_phy (determined from the PHY's phy-is-integrated property) and sometimes that the interface mode is RMII. This works because the rk3328.dtsi has: gmac2phy: ethernet@ff550000 { compatible = "rockchip,rk3328-gmac"; phy-mode = "rmii"; phy-handle = <&phy>; mdio { phy: ethernet-phy@0 { phy-is-integrated; }; }; }; The driver contains a mechanism to look up the MMIO address in a table to determine bsp_priv->id, which is used for every other Rockchip device. Switch rk3328 to use this mechanism to determine bsp_priv->id and use that to select which GRF register is used for configuration, similarly to how the other Rockchip SoCs handle such differences. In https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/aDne1Ybuvbk0AwG0@shell.armlinux.org.uk/ I requested that a follow-up patch to change the name of dwmac-rk's phy_power_on() function, which clashes with the drivers/phy function of the same name. This can cause confusion when grepping for this function name, or when reviewing code. Thankfully, stmmac doesn't make use of drivers/phy which saves this from compile errors. However, as is the usual case when a request is made as part of a review, if the review leads to successful application of the patch the author doesn't bother following up with any such requests, and so the problem falls back onto the reviewer to address... so here is the solution. Rename dwmac-rk's function to rk_phy_power_ctl(), as the function both powers up and down. Since the new slave can be used for Tx immediately, we can use it after it has been freed by the enslave error cleanup path which frees the allocated slave memory. 2026-01-27wifi: p54: Fix memory leak in p54_beacon_update()Zilin Guan
In p54_beacon_update(), beacon is allocated via ieee80211_beacon_get(). If p54_beacon_format_ie_tim() fails, the function returns immediately without freeing the allocated beacon skb, which would lead to a memory leak. Since no other references to this memory exist, it must be freed locally before returning the error. Fix this by freeing the buffer using dev_kfree_skb_any() in the error path. Note that this error path is unreachable in practice because mac80211 guarantees a minimum TIM length of 4 bytes for non-S1G devices. This change primarily serves to silence static analysis warnings and keep the error handling logic complete. Compile tested only. Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool and code review.
