pppoe_sendmsg() saves a pointer to the PPPoE header before calling
dev_hard_header(). Device header callbacks are allowed to reallocate the
skb head, invalidating pointers into it.
This can happen when a send is blocked in copy_from_user() while the first
non-Ethernet port is added to an empty team device. The team's delegated
GRE header callback then expands the skb head. PPPoE subsequently writes
six bytes through the stale pointer into the freed head.
Reload the PPPoE header through the skb's network-header offset after
device header creation. pskb_expand_head() updates that offset when it
relocates the head.

Several fields in struct ppp can be read or updated concurrently
from multiple CPUs without synchronization, causing data races:
1. ppp->mru is read concurrently in ppp_receive_nonmp_frame() while
being updated via PPPIOCSMRU ioctl. Protect ppp->mru updates in
PPPIOCSMRU with ppp_recv_lock(ppp).
2. PPPIOCGFLAGS reads ppp->flags, ppp->xstate, and ppp->rstate
unlocked. Wrap the read in ppp_lock(ppp) to get a consistent
snapshot.
3. ppp->debug is updated via PPPIOCSDEBUG and read concurrently on
fast paths. Annotate reads with READ_ONCE() and writes with
WRITE_ONCE().
4. ppp->last_xmit and ppp->last_recv are updated on TX/RX data paths
and read via PPPIOCGIDLE32 / PPPIOCGIDLE64 ioctls. Annotate with
WRITE_ONCE() / READ_ONCE() and use max() to handle jiffies
subtraction.
5. ppp->npmode[] is updated via PPPIOCSNPMODE and read on TX/RX
paths. Annotate with WRITE_ONCE() / READ_ONCE().

When an AMT device is removed, pending delayed works can still access
the freed amt_dev structure, which may result in kernel crashes or
memory corruption.
amt_dev_stop() cancels req_wq and discovery_wq with
cancel_delayed_work_sync(), but these works can be scheduled again
from event_wq after the cancellation. This allows delayed works to
access the freed amt_dev structure after the netdev has been released.
The following is a simple race scenario:
CPU0 CPU1
amt_dev_stop()
cancel_delayed_work_sync()
amt_event_work()
mod_delayed_work(req_wq)
free netdev
req_wq accesses freed amt_dev
Use disable_delayed_work_sync() in amt_dev_stop() to prevent req_wq and
discovery_wq from being queued again and wait for running work items
to complete.
The delayed works are disabled after initialization in
amt_newlink() and enabled only when the device is successfully opened.
This keeps the delayed work lifecycle synchronized with the lifetime
of the AMT device.

The initial PWM and PSC register writes in pca9532_configure() do not
check the return values of i2c_smbus_write_byte_data(). If the I2C
device is physically absent from the bus, the write fails with -ENXIO.
However, the driver ignores this error and allows probe() to complete
successfully.
This results in the registration of phantom LED class devices and
gpiochips backed by non-existent hardware. Subsequent GPIO reads from
these phantom chips return bogus values (due to -ENXIO being truncated
to an unsigned char in pca9532_gpio_get_value()), silently corrupting
hardware state tracking in userspace.
Propagate the I2C write failures back to probe() so the driver core
can gracefully abort binding and release devres-managed resources.

Introduce the "dpm_watchdog_enabled" module parameter to allow the DPM
watchdog to be enabled or disabled at boot time and runtime.
Additionally, introduce the CONFIG_DPM_WATCHDOG_ENABLED Kconfig option
to set the default value of the module parameter at compile time.
The primary motivation for this configurability resolves around Android
GKI (Generic Kernel Image). We want to enable CONFIG_DPM_WATCHDOG in
the GKI so the feature is available. However, because the GKI is shared
across many different devices, we don't want to inadvertently affect
devices that are unaware of this feature. This provides a way to
compile it in, but keep it disabled by default for those devices via the
kernel command line or module parameters.
To maintain backward compatibility, CONFIG_DPM_WATCHDOG_ENABLED relies
on `default y`. Previously, the DPM watchdog was always active if
CONFIG_DPM_WATCHDOG was set. Defaulting this new option to 'y' ensures
that the behavior remains unchanged for existing users and defconfigs
when they upgrade.

Currently, the module parameters defined in drivers/base/power/main.c
use the default prefix "main" (derived from the filename). The prefix
is too generic and non-descriptive.
Redefine MODULE_PARAM_PREFIX to "pm." to group the module
parameters under the namespace instead. This makes the parameters more
descriptive.

Replace snprintf() with sysfs_emit_at() in trans_table_show().
sysfs_emit_at() is preferred for formatting sysfs output because it
provides safer bounds checking.
Convert multiple PAGE_SIZE length checks to check the number of bytes
actually copied by sysfs_emit_at(), thus avoiding manual buffer size
accounting.
Consistently return -EFBIG when the transition table output exceeds the
sysfs buffer, including the header row.

The MCTP serial receive state machine reads a frame length byte in
mctp_serial_push_header() case 2 and validates it upper-bound-only:

A length of zero passes this check, so rxlen is set to 0 and the state
machine advances to STATE_DATA. In mctp_serial_push() STATE_DATA, the
incoming byte is stored and rxpos incremented before the terminator is
tested:

With rxlen == 0 the "rxpos == rxlen" terminator can never fire (rxpos is
already 1 on the first data byte), so subsequent bytes are written past
the end of the fixed 74-byte rxbuf, which is the last member of the
netdev private area. Every following data byte is an attacker-controlled
1-byte out-of-bounds heap write, and the overflow continues until a
frame (0x7e) or escape byte resets the parser -- effectively unbounded.
Reaching this requires CAP_NET_ADMIN to attach the N_MCTP line
discipline and bring the resulting mctpserialN netdev up, after which
the bytes arrive via the tty receive path.
Route a zero-length frame straight to STATE_TRAILER instead of
STATE_DATA. The trailer/framing bytes are still consumed, and the frame
resolves to a zero-length skb that the MCTP core rejects; the parser
never enters STATE_DATA with rxlen == 0, so the out-of-bounds write can
no longer occur.

When MCAM entries are allocated for a VF netdev via the devlink
mcam_count parameter, only OTX2_FLAG_NTUPLE_SUPPORT was set. That
enabled ethtool ntuple filters but not tc flower offload. Also set
OTX2_FLAG_TC_FLOWER_SUPPORT when entries are successfully allocated.

Update the NIX_GET_HW_INFO mailbox message to return the VWQE timer
delay, which is used for vector packet wait time calculation.
Repurpose the existing rsvs16 reserved field in struct nix_hw_info
to vwqe_delay and populate it by reading the NIX_AF_VWQE_TIMER
register (applicable for non-OTX2 silicon).

There are still a handful of ancient mips/armv5/sh boards that use the
gpio_led:gpio member to pass an old-style gpio number, but all modern
users have been converted to gpio descriptors.
While the CONFIG_GPIOLIB_LEGACY option that guards devm_gpio_request_one()
and related helpers is currently turned on in all kernel builds,
the plan is to only enable it on the few platforms that actually
pass gpio numbers in any platform_data.
Split out the legacy portion of the platform_data handling into a custom
helper function that is guarded with in #ifdef block, to allow the
the leds-gpio driver to compile cleanly when CONFIG_GPIOLIB_LEGACY
gets turned off. Once the last user is converted, this function can
be removed.

Add an optional mlx5 driver-namespace UMEM attribute on SRQ create so
userspace can supply the doorbell record umem explicitly, symmetric to
the CQ and QP sides. Resolve it inside mlx5_ib_db_map_user() and use it
as a private DBR page when present; otherwise take the existing UHW
share-or-pin path that preserves per-page DBR sharing across CQ/QP/SRQ
in the same process.
Add mlx5's first UVERBS_OBJECT_SRQ UAPI definition chain to attach the
new attr.

Use the per-attribute UMEM helper to pin the SRQ buffer umem on demand.
ib_umem_get_attr_or_va() resolves the new CREATE_SRQ_BUF_UMEM attribute
when present and otherwise falls back to the existing UHW ucmd->buf_addr
VA, preserving the legacy behavior.

Apply the per-attribute UMEM model to the SRQ create method. Add an
optional UMEM attribute that backs the SRQ WQE buffer, so userspace can
supply it as either a VA or a dma-buf through a single descriptor,
consistent with the CQ and QP create methods.
mlx5 is the only driver that pins an SRQ WQE buffer via umem; it maps a
single ucmd->buf_addr region through this attribute. No other driver
implements a user SRQ buffer, so none of them use the attribute.

Implement returning to userspace applications PDNs of created PDs.
The PDN is used by applications that build work requests outside of the
rdma-core code base. The PDN is used to build work requests that require
mentioning the PD. The HW still ensures PD isolation using PDN attached
to MRs and WRs, therefore the PDN mentioned in the work request must match
the PDN of the used work queue. The work requests can fit only 16 bit PDNs.
Allow users to request short PDNs which are 16 bits.
The capability to request short PDN and get PDN is encoded in the response
of alloc user context IOCTL.

pci_sriov_get_totalvfs() reports a VF count, not an errno-style
status. It returns 0 when SR-IOV is unavailable or the device is not a
PF, and otherwise returns the PF's driver_max_VFs value.
driver_max_VFs is stored as a u16 in struct pci_sriov. It is derived
from the SR-IOV TotalVFs field or from a driver-provided limit, so the
implementation cannot return a negative value.
Change the declaration, CONFIG_PCI_IOV stub, and implementation to
return unsigned int.

erdma_destroy_qp(), erdma_destroy_cq(), erdma_dereg_mr(), and
erdma_destroy_ah() returned early when erdma_post_cmd_wait() failed,
leaking the queue buffers, MTTs, doorbells and the STAG, QPN, CQN and AHN
identifiers. A command timeout clears ERDMA_CMDQ_STATE_OK_BIT and
permanently disables the command queue, so no retry can succeed; the RDMA
core keeps the object after a failed destructor and forced uverbs cleanup
then nulls the pointers, making the resources unreachable.
Warn on failure but release every software-owned resource and return
success, since during terminal destruction the hardware command result is
only diagnostic.

stmmac_mac_link_down() clears the MAC's transmit and receive enable bits.
stmmac_mac_link_up() is expected to set them again through
stmmac_mac_set(..., true), but it first switches on the negotiated speed
and returns early for a speed the switch does not list. The MAC is then
left gated off.
The speed selection is split into three switches, keyed on the interface.
The generic branch -- taken for everything that is neither USXGMII nor
XLGMII, so including PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_10GBASER -- lists only SPEED_2500,
SPEED_1000, SPEED_100 and SPEED_10.
MGBE on Tegra234 runs 10GBASE-R into an Aquantia AQR113C. That PHY does
rate matching, so phylink_link_up() replaces the media speed with the
MAC-side interface speed before calling into the MAC:

The driver is therefore called as
stmmac_mac_link_up(interface=10GBASER, speed=10000, duplex=1)
which falls through to "default: return;". The interface stops passing
traffic after the first link flap.
The failure is easy to misread. The link still comes up, because the PHY
is polled over MDIO and needs no MAC, so the interface reports carrier 1
at the media speed. The DMA is untouched, so its start bits stay set and
descriptors are still consumed. Only the MAC itself is gated off: the
receiver counts nothing (mmc_rx_framecount_gb stops advancing, RE is 0)
and nothing reaches the wire (TE is 0). The interface survives boot only
because stmmac_hw_setup(), called from ndo_open, enables the MAC
unconditionally -- so the problem appears only once the cable has been
unplugged and plugged back in, and "ip link set dev <ethX> down && ip
link set dev <ethX> up" appears to fix it.
The interface is not what the speed bits depend on: with the single
exception of 2.5G, which is selected through the XGMII block on USXGMII
and through the regular speed bits otherwise, each speed maps to one
field of struct mac_link. The per-interface switches are speed
validation, and phylink already validates the speed against
priv->hw->link.caps. So collapse the three switches into one keyed on the
speed alone, keeping the interface test only for the 2.5G case. This
covers 10G on 10GBASE-R, and equally 5G, and 1G/100/10 on USXGMII, all of
which hit "default: return;" today.
A core that does not support a speed leaves the corresponding mac_link
field at 0, and phylink will not offer it that speed in the first place.
For dwxgmac2 at 10G, link.xgmii.speed10000 is XGMAC_CONFIG_SS_10000,
which is 0 and is the correct speed selection for a 10GBASE-R MAC: ctrl
then equals old_ctrl, the register write is skipped, and execution
reaches stmmac_mac_set(..., true).
Log an error in the default case, since a speed with no entry here leaves
the MAC disabled and the symptom does not point at the cause.

When deleting an L3/L4 flower filter entry, the action field is not
reset. If a filter was previously configured with a drop action, that
action may persist and affect subsequent filter configurations

The basic flow parser in tc_add_basic_flow() does not validate match
keys before proceeding. Unsupported offload configurations such as
partial protocol masks, non-IPv4 network proto, or non-TCP/UDP transport
proto are silently accepted instead of returning -EOPNOTSUPP.
Add validation to return -EOPNOTSUPP early for:
- No network or transport proto present in the key
- Partial protocol mask (only full mask supported)
- Network proto is not IPv4
- Transport proto is not TCP or UDP
Each rejection includes an extack message so the user knows which part
of the match is unsupported.
Also propagate -EOPNOTSUPP from tc_add_basic_flow() in tc_add_flow()
by returning it directly rather than using break. The break was silently
discarding the error for FLOW_CLS_REPLACE operations where entry->in_use
is already true, causing tc_add_flow() to return 0 (success) for
unsupported replace requests.

The XGMAC_L4_ADDR register holds both source and destination port
match values. The current implementation overwrites the entire register
when configuring either port, so setting one silently erases the other.
Fix this by reading the register first, then masking and updating only
the relevant field before writing back.

The root cause is that KUnit devices are initialized with a 32-bit DMA
mask (DMA_BIT_MASK(32)) in lib/kunit/device.c. On ppc64le and s390x
systems with physical memory above 4GB, page allocations can land at
addresses that exceed this mask. When drm_gem_shmem_get_pages_sgt()
attempts to DMA-map these pages via dma_map_sgtable(), the DMA layer
rejects the mapping because the physical address overflows the 32-bit
mask.
The failure is intermittent because pages may or may not be allocated
above 4GB on any given run depend on memory pressure.
Fix by setting a 64-bit DMA mask on the device before calling
drm_gem_shmem_get_pages_sgt() for all tests, following the same pattern
already used in drm_gem_shmem_test_obj_create_private().

The commit 7aa7d4bf9d3f ("usb: typec: ucsi: Fix race condition and
ordering in port unregistration") consolidated port teardown into the
ucsi_unregister_port() helper. However, it introduced an ordering problem
in the ucsi_init() error path.
Fix this by ensuring ucsi_unregister_port() is called before we unregister
their corresponding lockdep keys.

Rearrange the error handling changes in the previous patch, in both
hub_ext_port_status() and hub_hub_status(), in respect to maintainer

Add additional error handling after the call to get_hub_status() in
hub_hub_status().
get_hub_status() uses usb_control_msg() which does not verify that the
message is the correct length, substituting it for
usb_control_msg_recv() would also solve this issue but increase memory
allocations.
Instead, error handling is copied from the method used in
hub_ext_port_status(), which shares the same flow of logic as
hub_hub_status().

The current mechanism for sending Discover Identity in the ready state
presents a flaw where tcpm_queue_vdm can collide with non interruptible
AMSes such as GET_SINK_CAP or VCONN_SWAP. vdm_run_state_machine will hit
the VDM_STATE_BUSY state, and Discover SVIDs or Discover Modes will not
retry.
This patch introduces a state machine under the enum vdm_discovery_states.
The tcpm_port field vdm_discovery_state tracks which step of the Discover
Identity process has been completed.
The current TCPM implementation utilizes the send_discover and
send_discover_prime booleans to queue Discover Identity in the
aforementioned collision case. These booleans are removed in place of
vdm_discovery_state and send_discover_work is replaced by
vdm_discovery_work, which runs unconditionally in the ready state.
When the Discovery process is complete, the port will move to the
VDM_DISCOVERY_COMPLETE state and vdm_discovery_work becomes a no-op.
When there are still Discovery VDMs to be sent, vdm_discovery_work will
continue based on the last received response from the port partner or
cable.

Add gpu_write_power_sync to verify that power register modifications
have reached the endpoint device in sequence specific sections that do
not validate device state.
These sequence specific areas have been detected experimentally with an
am57xx-evm through numerous boot and module load+unload cycles.

Currently EFA WRs support 16-bit request ID, this requires EFA to manage
a translation table to translate the IB WR ID from 64-bits to 16-bits
and translating it back on CQ completion.
Expose a new device capability to handle 64-bit request ID for SQ WRs
allowing userspace to directly post the 64-bit ID to the device.

ep93xx_pata_dma_init() returns an error when dma_request_chan() fails,
which causes ep93xx_pata_probe() to abort entirely. The probe function
already has a PIO fallback path (it checks both channel pointers before
enabling UDMA), so the DMA init should not fail the probe on non-fatal
errors.
Propagate -EPROBE_DEFER, such that we allow the DMA controller driver
to load, in case we got probed before the DMA controller driver.
For all other failures (e.g. -ENODEV when the DMA controller is missing
in the device tree), fall back to PIO.

Convert the DMA channel request to devm_dma_request_chan() so the
channel is released automatically on device teardown. This removes
the explicit dma_release_channel() calls in the probe error paths
and in pxa_ata_remove(), simplifying the driver.
Use ata_platform_remove_one() which is now equivalent to what remains of
the remove function after dma_release_channel() removal.
Built as a module for arm/pxa_defconfig (CONFIG_PATA_PXA=m) with
LLVM=1 W=1; no new warnings.

Commit 9e9787414882 ("drm/xe/userptr: replace xe_hmm with gpusvm") made
xe_svm_init() unconditional in xe_vm_create() and extended it to also
initialize a "simple" gpusvm state for non-fault-mode VMs. The matching
xe_svm_fini() call in xe_vm_close_and_put() was updated to run
unconditionally, but the error unwind path in xe_vm_create() was not.
On the drm_gpuvm_resv_object_alloc() failure path, xe_svm_init() has
already succeeded but xe_svm_fini() is only called when
XE_VM_FLAG_FAULT_MODE is set. For non-fault-mode VMs this leaves
vm->svm.gpusvm partially initialized and leaks the resources allocated
by drm_gpusvm_init().
For fault-mode VMs, xe_svm_init() additionally acquires the pagemap
owner via drm_pagemap_acquire_owner() and the pagemaps via
xe_svm_get_pagemaps(). Those resources are released by xe_svm_close(),
not xe_svm_fini(). On the same error path, xe_svm_close() is not
called either, so fault-mode VMs leak the pagemap owner and pagemaps.
Fix both leaks:
- Call xe_svm_fini() unconditionally on the err_svm_fini path, matching
the unconditional xe_svm_init() call. Move the vm->size = 0
assignment out of the conditional so the xe_vm_is_closed() assert in
xe_svm_fini() (and xe_svm_close()) holds for both modes.
- Call xe_svm_close() for fault-mode VMs before xe_svm_fini(), matching
the ordering used in xe_vm_close_and_put().

The current frequency calculation is done in 32 bit, causing problems
if run on a future SoC that can boost higher than 4.2GHz. Ideally, we
should use a true u64 instead of unsigned long and "knowning" that this
only runs on 64 bit machines, but the core code uses ulong everywhere,
so this should be good enough.

Currently, `FmcBootArgs` takes DMA handles directly, rather than

Currently, `poll_msgq` will report a message of size 4 if the queue
pointers are broken. It's easy to catch this if it occurs, so have
