In order to add directory delegation support, we need to break
delegations on the parent whenever there is going to be a change in the
directory.
Add a delegated_inode parameter to vfs_create. Most callers are
converted to pass in NULL, but do_mknodat() is changed to wait for a
delegation break if there is one.

As Neil points out:
"I would be in favour of dropping the "dir" arg because it is always
d_inode(dentry->d_parent) which is stable."
...and...
"Also *every* caller of vfs_create() passes ".excl = true". So maybe we
don't need that arg at all."
Drop both arguments from vfs_create() and fix up the callers.

Add a delegated_inode parameter to lookup_open and have it break the
delegation. Then, open_last_lookups can wait for the delegation break
and retry the call to lookup_open once it's done.

When nfsd starts requesting directory delegations, setlease handlers may
see requests for leases on directories. Push the !S_ISREG check down
into the non-trivial setlease handlers, so we can selectively enable
them where they're supported.
FUSE is special: It's the only filesystem that supports atomic_open and
allows kernel-internal leases. atomic_open is issued when the VFS
doesn't know the state of the dentry being opened. If the file doesn't
exist, it may be created, in which case the dir lease should be broken.
The existing kernel-internal lease implementation has no provision for
this. Ensure that we don't allow directory leases by default going
forward by explicitly disabling them there.

The current API requires a pointer to an inode pointer. It's easy for
callers to get this wrong. Add a new delegated_inode structure and use
that to pass back any inode that needs to be waited on.

Currently __break_lease takes both a type and an openmode. With the
addition of directory leases, that makes less sense. Declare a set of
LEASE_BREAK_* flags that can be used to control how lease breaks work
instead of requiring a type and an openmode.

__break_lease() currently overrides the flc_flags field in the lease
after allocating it. A forthcoming patch will add the ability to request
a FL_DELEG type lease.
Instead of overriding the flags field, add a flags argument to
lease_alloc() and lease_init() so it's set correctly after allocating.

In 'ocfs2_ioctl_move_extents()', add extra check whether only actually
supported flags are passed via 'ioctl(..., OCFS2_IOC_MOVE_EXT, ...)',
and reject anything beyond OCFS2_MOVE_EXT_FL_AUTO_DEFRAG and
OCFS2_MOVE_EXT_FL_PART_DEFRAG with -EINVAL. In particular,
OCFS2_MOVE_EXT_FL_COMPLETE may be set by the kernel only and
should never be passed from userspace.

When smbd_disconnect_rdma_connection() turns SMBDIRECT_SOCKET_CREATED
into SMBDIRECT_SOCKET_ERROR, we'll have the situation that
smbd_disconnect_rdma_work() will set SMBDIRECT_SOCKET_DISCONNECTING
and call rdma_disconnect(), which likely fails as we never reached
the RDMA_CM_EVENT_ESTABLISHED. it means that
wait_event(sc->status_wait, sc->status == SMBDIRECT_SOCKET_DISCONNECTED)
in smbd_destroy() will hang forever in SMBDIRECT_SOCKET_DISCONNECTING
never reaching SMBDIRECT_SOCKET_DISCONNECTED.
So we directly go from SMBDIRECT_SOCKET_CREATED to
SMBDIRECT_SOCKET_DISCONNECTED.

due to improper handling of sbi->options in error paths. This resulted in crashes when superblock cleanup
is performed in ntfs_put_super.
This patch ensures that the options structure and its subfields are properly freed, preventing the memory
corruption and use-after-free errors.

KMSAN reports: Multiple uninitialized values detected:

Memory is allocated by __getname(), which is a wrapper for
kmem_cache_alloc(). This memory is used before being properly
cleared. Change kmem_cache_alloc() to kmem_cache_zalloc() to
properly allocate and clear memory before use.

Commit e26ee4efbc79 ("fuse: allocate ff->release_args only if release is
needed") skips allocating ff->release_args if the server does not
implement open. However in doing so, fuse_prepare_release() now skips
grabbing the reference on the inode, which makes it possible for an
inode to be evicted from the dcache while there are inflight readahead
requests. This causes a deadlock if the server triggers reclaim while
servicing the readahead request and reclaim attempts to evict the inode
of the file being read ahead. Since the folio is locked during
readahead, when reclaim evicts the fuse inode and fuse_evict_inode()
attempts to remove all folios associated with the inode from the page
cache (truncate_inode_pages_range()), reclaim will block forever waiting
for the lock since readahead cannot relinquish the lock because it is
itself blocked in reclaim:

Fix this deadlock by allocating ff->release_args and grabbing the
reference on the inode when preparing the file for release even if the

xfs_qm_vop_dqalloc only needs the (exclusive) ilock for attaching dquots
to the inode if not done so yet. All the other locks don't touch the inode
and don't need the ilock - the i_rwsem / iolock protects against changes
to the IDs while we are in a method, and the ilock would not help because
dropping it for the dqget calls would be racy anyway.

There is no reason to lock the dquot in xfs_qm_dqget, which just acquires

With the new lockref-based dquot reference counting, there is no need to
hold q_qlock for dropping the reference. Make xfs_qm_dqrele the main
function to drop dquot references without taking q_qlock and convert all
callers of xfs_qm_dqput to unlock q_qlock and call xfs_qm_dqrele instead.

The xfs_dquot structure currently uses the anti-pattern of using the
in-object lock that protects the content to also serialize reference
count updates for the structure, leading to a cumbersome free path.
This is partially papered over by the fact that we never free the dquot
directly but always through the LRU. Switch to use a lockref instead and
move the reference counter manipulations out of q_qlock.
To make this work, xfs_qm_flush_one and xfs_qm_flush_one are converted to
acquire a dquot reference while flushing to integrate with the lockref
"get if not dead" scheme.

qi_dquots counts all quotas in the file system, which can be up to
3 * UINT_MAX and overflow a 32-bit counter, but can't be negative.
Make qi_dquots a uint64_t, and saturate the value to UINT_MAX for
userspace reporting.

Stop playing games with the namespace id and use a boolean instead:
* This will remove the special-casing we need to do everywhere for mount
namespaces.
* It will allow us to use asserts on the namespace id for initial
namespaces everywhere.
* It will allow us to put anonymous mount namespaces on the namespaces
trees in the future and thus make them available to statmount() and
listmount().

The utimes01 and utime06 tests fail when delegated timestamps are
enabled, specifically in subtests that modify the atime and mtime
fields using the 'nobody' user ID.
The problem can be reproduced as follow:
# echo "/media *(rw,no_root_squash,sync)" >> /etc/exports
# export -ra
# mount -o rw,nfsvers=4.2 127.0.0.1:/media /tmpdir
# cd /opt/ltp
# ./runltp -d /tmpdir -s utimes01
# ./runltp -d /tmpdir -s utime06
This issue occurs because nfs_setattr does not verify the inode's
UID against the caller's fsuid when delegated timestamps are
permitted for the inode.
This patch adds the UID check and if it does not match then the
request is sent to the server for permission checking.

The Smatch static checker noted that in _nfs4_proc_lookupp(), the flag
RPC_TASK_TIMEOUT is being passed as an argument to nfs4_init_sequence(),
which is clearly incorrect.
Since LOOKUPP is an idempotent operation, nfs4_init_sequence() should
not ask the server to cache the result. The RPC_TASK_TIMEOUT flag needs
to be passed down to the RPC layer.

When nfs_do_create() returns an EEXIST error, it means that a regular
file could not be created. That could mean that a symlink needs to be
resolved. If that's the case, a lookup needs to be kicked off.

Fix this by never issuing misaligned DIO out of order. This fix means
the DIO-aligned middle will only use AIO completion if there is no
misaligned end segment. Otherwise, all 3 segments of a misaligned DIO
will be issued without AIO completion to ensure file offset increases
properly for all partial READ or WRITE situations.
Factoring out nfs_local_iter_setup() helps standardize repetitive
nfs_local_iters_setup_dio() code and is inspired by cleanup work that
Chuck Lever did on the NFSD Direct code.

LOCALIO's misaligned DIO WRITE support requires synchronous IO for any
misaligned head and/or tail that are issued using buffered IO. In
addition, it is important that the O_DIRECT middle be on stable
storage upon its completion via AIO.
Otherwise, a misaligned DIO WRITE could mix buffered IO for the
head/tail and direct IO for the DIO-aligned middle -- which could lead
to problems associated with deferred writes to stable storage (such as
out of order partial completions causing incorrect advancement of the
file's offset, etc).

Misaligned DIO read can be split into 3 IOs, must handle potential for
short read from each component IO (follows same pattern used for
handling partial writes, except upper layer read code handles advancing
offset before retry).

Improve completion handling of as many as 3 IOs associated with each
misaligned DIO by using a atomic_t to track completion of each IO.
Update nfs_local_pgio_done() to use precise atomic_t accounting for
remaining iov_iter (up to 3) associated with each iocb, so that each
NFS LOCALIO pgio header is only released after all IOs have completed.
But also allow early return if/when a short read or write occurs.

Each filesystem is meant to fallback to retrying DIO in terms buffered
IO when it might encounter -ENOTBLK when issuing DIO (which can happen
if the VFS cannot invalidate the page cache).
So NFS doesn't need special handling for -ENOTBLK.
Also, explicitly initialize a couple DIO related iocb members rather
than simply rely on data structure zeroing.
