This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union object instances: Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...) Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...) Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...) (where TYPE may also be *VAR) The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning "TYPE *". Signed-off-by: Kees Cook

In commit 9011e49d54dc ("modules: only allow symbol_get of EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL modules") the use of symbol_get is properly restricted to GPL-only marked symbols. This interacts oddly with the DVB logic which only uses dvb_attach() to load the dvb driver which then uses symbol_get(). Fix this up by properly marking all of the dvb_attach attach symbols as EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL(). Right now, satellite frontend drivers specify frequencies in kHz, while terrestrial/cable ones specify in Hz. That's confusing for developers. However, the main problem is that universal frontends capable of handling both satellite and non-satelite delivery systems are appearing. We end by needing to hack the drivers in order to support such hybrid frontends. So, convert everything to specify frontend frequencies in Hz. media: m88rs2000: handle the case where tuner doesn't have get_frequency

If the tuner doesn't have get_frequency() callback, the current code will place a random value as the frequency offset. That doesn't seem right! The better is to just assume that, on such case, the tuner was able to set the exact frequency that was requested. These are immutable. Making them "const" allows the compiler to move them to the "rodata" section. Note that cxd2841er_t_c_ops cannot be made "const", because cxd2841er_attach() modifies it. Ouch!
