Pull char/misc/IIO/etc driver updates from Greg KH:
"Here is the big set of char, misc, iio, counter, fpga, and other small
  driver subsystems for 7.3-rc1.

Overall, due to some driver removals we only added a bit more code
than removed, which was a nice change. Highlights in this merge
  request are:

   - Loads of IIO driver updates and additions

   - binder driver updates (more on that below...)

   - Removal of the SGI XP and GRU drivers as they are not used anymore
and turn out to be pretty insecure overall

   - Removal of the obsolete ibmasm driver as it's not being used
     anymore

   - Coresight driver updates and additions

   - Mei driver udpates

   - Counter driver updates

   - FPGA driver updates

   - ICC driver updates

   - lots and lots of other tiny driver updates to resolve reported
     issues

All of these have been in linux-next for a while"

Current implementation isn't working well when device tree nodes have a
phandle on a fixed-layout nvmem node. As the fixed layout is handled in
nvmem core, no driver is ever associated with the layout, and the device
consumer driver probe is deferred indefinitely.

Remove the specific handling of fixed-layout and add a layout driver.
This makes the fixed-layout similar to all other layouts, fixing the
whole issue.

Unfortunately the ethaddr value in U-Boot environment might be enclosed
in single/double quotes or be something completely different. This can
make it different than MAC_ADDR_STR_LEN, which results in EINVAL
returned by ethaddr post process. Move the check for length earlier,
to skip post processing, so nvmem could still present ethaddr value as
a string if the value doesn't match MAC_ADDR_STR_LEN.

Remove <linux/hex.h> from <linux/kernel.h> and update all users/callers of
hex.h interfaces to directly #include <linux/hex.h> as part of the process
of putting kernel.h on a diet.

Removing hex.h from kernel.h means that 36K C source files don't have to
pay the price of parsing hex.h for the roughly 120 C source files that
need it.

This change has been build-tested with allmodconfig on most ARCHes. Also,
all users/callers of <linux/hex.h> in the entire source tree have been
updated if needed (if not already #included).

Some devices reserve a larger NVMEM region for the U-Boot environment
than the actual environment data length used by U-Boot itself. The CRC32
in the U-Boot header is calculated over the smaller data length, causing
CRC validation to fail when Linux reads the full partition.

Allow an optional device tree property "env-size" to specify the
environment data size to use for CRC computation.

Pull CRC updates from Eric Biggers:

- Reorganize the architecture-optimized CRC code

It now lives in lib/crc/$(SRCARCH)/ rather than arch/$(SRCARCH)/lib/,
and it is no longer artificially split into separate generic and arch
modules. This allows better inlining and dead code elimination

The generic CRC code is also no longer exported, simplifying the API.
(This mirrors the similar changes to SHA-1 and SHA-2 in lib/crypto/,
which can be found in the "Crypto library updates" pull request)

- Improve crc32c() performance on newer x86_64 CPUs on long messages by
   enabling the VPCLMULQDQ optimized code

- Simplify the crypto_shash wrappers for crc32_le() and crc32c()

Register just one shash algorithm for each that uses the (fully
optimized) library functions, instead of unnecessarily providing
direct access to the generic CRC code

- Remove unused and obsolete drivers for hardware CRC engines

- Remove CRC-32 combination functions that are no longer used

- Add kerneldoc for crc32_le(), crc32_be(), and crc32c()

- Convert the crc32() macro to an inline function

nvmem: layouts: u-boot-env: remove crc32 endianness conversion

On 11 Oct 2022, it was reported that the crc32 verification
of the u-boot environment failed only on big-endian systems
for the u-boot-env nvmem layout driver with the following error.

  Invalid calculated CRC32: 0x88cd6f09 (expected: 0x096fcd88)

This problem has been present since the driver was introduced,
and before it was made into a layout driver.

The suggested fix at the time was to use further endianness
conversion macros in order to have both the stored and calculated
crc32 values to compare always represented in the system's endianness.
This was not accepted due to sparse warnings
and some disagreement on how to handle the situation.
Later on in a newer revision of the patch, it was proposed to use
cpu_to_le32() for both values to compare instead of le32_to_cpu()
and store the values as __le32 type to remove compilation errors.

The necessity of this is based on the assumption that the use of crc32()
requires endianness conversion because the algorithm uses little-endian,
however, this does not prove to be the case and the issue is unrelated.

Upon inspecting the current kernel code,
there already is an existing use of le32_to_cpu() in this driver,
which suggests there already is special handling for big-endian systems,
however, it is big-endian systems that have the problem.

This, being the only functional difference between architectures
in the driver combined with the fact that the suggested fix
was to use the exact same endianness conversion for the values
brings up the possibility that it was not necessary to begin with,
as the same endianness conversion for two values expected to be the same
is expected to be equivalent to no conversion at all.

After inspecting the u-boot environment of devices of both endianness
and trying to remove the existing endianness conversion,
the problem is resolved in an equivalent way as the other suggested fixes.

Ultimately, it seems that u-boot is agnostic to endianness
at least for the purpose of environment variables.
In other words, u-boot reads and writes the stored crc32 value
with the same endianness that the crc32 value is calculated with
in whichever endianness a certain architecture runs on.

Therefore, the u-boot-env driver does not need to convert endianness.
Remove the usage of endianness macros in the u-boot-env driver,
and change the type of local variables to maintain the same return type.

If there is a special situation in the case of endianness,
it would be a corner case and should be handled by a unique "compatible".

Even though it is not necessary to use endianness conversion macros here,
it may be useful to use them in the future for consistent error printing.

u_boot_env_parse() calls crc32() from within a scope that has a uint32_t
variable named crc32. This works only because crc32() is actually a
macro that expands to crc32_le(). I'm planning to make it an inline
function instead, which will make the usual C scoping rules apply to it.
Therefore, update u_boot_env_parse() to be compatible with that. To do
so, just call crc32_le() directly instead of using the crc32() alias.
(An alternative would be to rename the local variable.)
