[ Upstream commit 50317fce2cc70a2bbbc4b42c31bbad510382a53c ]

Davide found the following script triggers a NULL pointer
dereference:

ip l a name eth0 type dummy
tc q a dev eth0 parent :1 handle 1: htb

This is because for a freshly created netdevice noop_qdisc
is attached and when passing 'parent :1', kernel actually
tries to match the major handle which is 0 and noop_qdisc
has handle 0 so is matched by mistake. Commit 69012ae425d7
tries to fix a similar bug but still misses this case.

Handle 0 is not a valid one, should be just skipped. In
fact, kernel uses it as TC_H_UNSPEC.

Fixes: 59cc1f61f09c ("net: sched:convert qdisc linked list to hashtable")

SKB stored in qdisc-&gt;gso_skb also counted into backlog.

Some qdiscs don't reset backlog to zero in -&gt;reset(),
for example sfq just dequeue and free all queued skb.

<title>net/sched: cls_matchall: fix crash when used with classful qdisc</title>

<content type='text'>
[ Upstream commit 3ff4cbec87da48b0ec1f7b6196607b034de0c680 ]

this script, edited from Linux Advanced Routing and Traffic Control guide

tc q a dev en0 root handle 1: htb default a
tc c a dev en0 parent 1:  classid 1:1 htb rate 6mbit burst 15k
tc c a dev en0 parent 1:1 classid 1:a htb rate 5mbit ceil 6mbit burst 15k
tc c a dev en0 parent 1:1 classid 1:b htb rate 1mbit ceil 6mbit burst 15k
tc f a dev en0 parent 1:0 prio 1 $clsname $clsargs classid 1:b
ping $address -c1
tc -s c s dev en0

classifies traffic to 1:b or 1:a, depending on whether the packet matches
or not the pattern $clsargs of filter $clsname. However, when $clsname is
'matchall', a systematic crash can be observed in htb_classify(). HTB and
classful qdiscs don't assign initial value to struct tcf_result, but then
they expect it to contain valid values after filters have been run. Thus,
current 'matchall' ignores the TCA_MATCHALL_CLASSID attribute, configured
by user, and makes HTB (and classful qdiscs) dereference random pointers.

By assigning head-&gt;res to *res in mall_classify(), before the actions are
invoked, we fix this crash and enable TCA_MATCHALL_CLASSID functionality,
that had no effect on 'matchall' classifier since its first introduction.

freeing in call_rcu, which changed already existing hard-to-hit

sch_tbf calls qdisc_watchdog_cancel() in both its -&gt;reset and -&gt;destroy
callbacks but it may fail before the timer is initialized due to missing
options (either not supplied by user-space or set as a default qdisc),
also q-&gt;qdisc is used by -&gt;reset and -&gt;destroy so we need it initialized.

Reproduce:
$ sysctl net.core.default_qdisc=tbf
$ ip l set ethX up

It is very unlikely to happen but the backlogs memory allocation
could fail and will free q-&gt;flows, but then -&gt;destroy() will free
q-&gt;flows too. For correctness remove the first free and let -&gt;destroy
clean up.

<title>sch_cbq: fix null pointer dereferences on init failure</title>

CBQ can fail on -&gt;init by wrong nl attributes or simply for missing any,
f.e. if it's set as a default qdisc then TCA_OPTIONS (opt) will be NULL
when it is activated. The first thing init does is parse opt but it will
dereference a null pointer if used as a default qdisc, also since init
failure at default qdisc invokes -&gt;reset() which cancels all timers then
we'll also dereference two more null pointers (timer-&gt;base) as they were
never initialized.

To reproduce:
$ sysctl net.core.default_qdisc=cbq
$ ip l set ethX up

Crash log of the first null ptr deref:

Depending on where -&gt;init fails we can get a null pointer deref due to
uninitialized hires timer (watchdog) or a double free of the qdisc hash
because it is already freed by -&gt;destroy().
