Pull char/misc/IIO/etc driver updates from Greg KH:
"Here is the big set of char, misc, iio, counter, fpga, and other small
  driver subsystems for 7.3-rc1.

  Overall, due to some driver removals we only added a bit more code
  than removed, which was a nice change. Highlights in this merge
  request are:

   - Loads of IIO driver updates and additions

   - binder driver updates (more on that below...)

   - Removal of the SGI XP and GRU drivers as they are not used anymore
     and turn out to be pretty insecure overall

   - Removal of the obsolete ibmasm driver as it's not being used
     anymore

   - Coresight driver updates and additions

   - Mei driver udpates

   - Counter driver updates

   - FPGA driver updates

   - ICC driver updates

   - lots and lots of other tiny driver updates to resolve reported
     issues

  All of these have been in linux-next for a while"

Introduce safe Rust wrappers around struct fwctl_device and struct
fwctl_uctx. This lets Rust drivers register fwctl devices and implement
firmware RPC callbacks through a typed trait interface.

The abstraction keeps lifetime and reference-count handling inside the
wrapper, exposes pinned per-FD user contexts to drivers, and validates the
layout assumptions required by the C fwctl allocation model. Allocation
sizes are padded so the kmalloc-backed C allocations also satisfy Rust
alignment requirements.

Registration owns driver private data with a lifetime tied to the bound
parent device and verifies the parent identity before registration.
Callbacks access that data through a higher-ranked closure, preventing its
erased lifetime from escaping, while Device remains only the refcounted
fwctl object. This avoids requiring Rust drop glue from the fwctl_device
release path after unregister or module teardown.

RPC callbacks receive typed scope information, a mutable request/response
buffer, and the userspace output-buffer size. Response pointer conversion,
length validation, and raw output-length handling remain inside the
abstraction.

Add the Rust sources to the FWCTL MAINTAINERS entry and add myself as the
maintainer for the Rust abstractions.

Implement the basic serial device bus abstractions required to write a
serial device bus device driver with or without the need for initial device
data. This includes the following data structures:

The `serdev::Driver` trait represents the interface to the driver.

The `serdev::Device` abstraction represents a `struct serdev_device`.

In order to provide the Serdev specific parts to a generic
`driver::Registration` the `driver::RegistrationOps` trait is
implemented by `serdev::Adapter`.

This implements a safe and relatively simple API over the netlink API,
that allows you to add different attributes to a netlink message and
broadcast it. As the first user of this API only makes use of broadcast,
only broadcast messages are supported here.

This API is intended to be safe and to be easy to use in *generated*
code. This is because netlink is generally used with yaml files that
describe the underlying API, and the python generator outputs C code
(or, soon, Rust code) that lets you use the API more easily. So for
example, if there is a string field, the code generator will output a
method that internall calls `put_string()` with the right attr type.

rust: allow `suspicious_runtime_symbol_definitions` lint for Rust >= 1.98

Starting with Rust 1.98.0 (expected 2026-08-20), Rust is introducing a
couple new lints, `invalid_runtime_symbol_definitions` (deny-by-default)
and `suspicious_runtime_symbol_definitions` (warn-by-default), which check
the signature of items whose symbol name is a runtime symbol expected by
`core`.

Our build hits the second one, i.e. the warning:

    error: suspicious definition of the runtime `strlen` symbol used by the standard library
         --> rust/bindings/bindings_generated.rs:20018:5
          |

          = help: allow this lint if the signature is compatible
          = note: `-D suspicious-runtime-symbol-definitions` implied by `-D warnings`
          = help: to override `-D warnings` add `#[allow(suspicious_runtime_symbol_definitions)]`

    error: suspicious definition of the runtime `strlen` symbol used by the standard library
         --> rust/uapi/uapi_generated.rs:14236:5
          |
    14236 |     pub fn strlen(s: *const ffi::c_char) -> usize;
          |     ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
          |
          = note: expected `unsafe extern "C" fn(*const i8) -> usize`
                  found    `unsafe extern "C" fn(*const u8) -> usize`
          = help: either fix the signature or remove any attributes like `#[unsafe(no_mangle)]`, `#[unsafe(export_name = "strlen")]`, or `#[link_name = "strlen"]`
          = help: allow this lint if the signature is compatible

          = help: to override `-D warnings` add `#[allow(suspicious_runtime_symbol_definitions)]`

Thus `allow` the lint in `bindings` and `uapi`.

A more targeted alternative to avoid `allow`ing it would be to pass
`--blocklist-function strlen` to `bindgen`, but we would perhaps need
to adjust if other C headers end up adding more (or Rust checking more).
Since it is just the less critical one that we hit, and since eventually
this should be properly fixed by getting upstream Rust to provide a flag
like GCC/Clang's `-funsigned-char` [2][3], just `allow` it for now.

Add a GPUVM abstraction to be used by Rust GPU drivers.

GPUVM keeps track of a GPU's virtual address (VA) space and manages the
corresponding virtual mappings represented by "GPU VA" objects. It also
keeps track of the gem::Object<T> used to back the mappings through
GpuVmBo<T>.

This abstraction is only usable by drivers that wish to use GPUVM in
immediate mode. This allows us to build the locking scheme into the API
design. It means that the GEM mutex is used for the GEM gpuva list, and
that the resv lock is used for the extobj list. The evicted list is not
yet used in this version.

This abstraction provides a special handle called the UniqueRefGpuVm,
which is a wrapper around ARef<GpuVm> that provides access to the
interval tree. Generally, all changes to the address space requires
mutable access to this unique handle.
