2026-05-12firmware: arm_scmi: Add clock determine_rate operationCristian Marussi
Add a clock operation to help determining the effective rate, closest to the required one, that a specific clock can support. Calculation is currently performed kernel side and the logic is taken directly from the SCMI Clock driver: embedding the determinate rate logic in the protocol layer enables simplifications in the SCMI Clock protocol interface and will more easily accommodate further evolutions where such determine_rate logic into is optionally delegated to the platform SCMI server. 2026-05-12clk: scmi: Fix clock rate roundingCristian Marussi
While the do_div() helper used for rounding expects its divisor argument to be a 32bits quantity, the currently provided divisor parameter is a 64bit value that, as a consequence, is silently truncated and a possible source of bugs. Fix by using the proper div64_ul helper. 2026-05-12wifi: ath10k: skip WMI and beacon transmission when device is wedgedKang Yang
In ath10k_wmi_cmd_send(), the current code detects ATH10K_STATE_WEDGED and sets ret to -ESHUTDOWN, but still proceeds to transmit pending beacons and calls ath10k_wmi_cmd_send_nowait(). This can lead to incorrect behavior, as WMI commands and beacons are still sent after the device has been marked as wedged, and the original -ESHUTDOWN return value may be overwritten by the result of the send path. The wedged state indicates the hardware is already unreliable, and no further interaction with firmware is expected or meaningful in this state. Fix this by skipping beacon transmission and the WMI send path entirely once ATH10K_STATE_WEDGED is detected, ensuring consistent return values and avoiding unnecessary firmware interaction. 2026-05-12net: ethernet: cortina: Carry over frag counterLinus Walleij
The gmac_rx() NAPI poll function assembles packets in an SKB from a ring buffer. If the ring buffer gets completely emptied during a poll cycle, we exit gmac_rx(), but the packet is not yet completely assembled in the SKB, yet the fragment counter frag_nr is reset to zero on the next invocation. Solve this by making the RX fragment counter a part of the port struct, and carry it over between invocations. Reset the fragment counter only right after calling napi_gro_frags(), on error (after calling napi_free_frags()) or if stopping the port. Reset it in some place where not strictly necessary just to emphasize what is going on. This was found by Sashiko during normal patch review. 2026-05-12net: ethernet: cortina: Make RX SKB per-portLinus Walleij
The SKB used to assemble packets from fragments in gmac_rx() is static local, but the Gemini has two ethernet ports, meaning there can be races between the ports on a bad day if a device is using both. Make the RX SKB a per-port variable and carry it over between invocations in the port struct instead. Zero the pointer once we call napi_gro_frags(), on error (after calling napi_free_frags()) or if the port is stopped. Zero it in some place where not strictly necessary just to emphasize what is going on. This was found by Sashiko during normal patch review. 2026-05-12dm-inlinecrypt: add target for inline block device encryptionEric Biggers
Add a new device-mapper target "dm-inlinecrypt" that is similar to dm-crypt but uses the blk-crypto API instead of the regular crypto API. This allows it to take advantage of inline encryption hardware such as that commonly built into UFS host controllers. The table syntax matches dm-crypt's, but for now only a stripped-down set of parameters is supported. For example, for now AES-256-XTS is the only supported cipher. dm-inlinecrypt is based on Android's dm-default-key with the controversial passthrough support removed. Note that due to the removal of passthrough support, use of dm-inlinecrypt in combination with fscrypt causes double encryption of file contents (similar to dm-crypt + fscrypt), with the fscrypt layer not being able to use the inline encryption hardware. This makes dm-inlinecrypt unusable on systems such as Android that use fscrypt and where a more optimized approach is needed. It is however suitable as a replacement for dm-crypt. dm-inlinecrypt supports both keyring key and hex key, the former avoids the key to be exposed in dm-table message. Similar to dm-default-key in Android, it will fallabck to the software block crypto once the inline crypto hardware cannot support the expected cipher. 2026-05-12soundwire: Add a helper function to wait for device initialisationCharles Keepax
Add a new helper function to wait for the device to enumerate and be initialised by the SoundWire core. Most of the SoundWire drivers have very similar boiler plate code in their runtime resume, and that boiler plate tends to access various internals of the SoundWire structs which is a mild layering violation. Adding a new core helper function greatly eases both of these issues. 2026-05-12gpio: regmap: Don't set a fixed direction lineLinus Walleij
If a GPIO line has a fixed direction, report an error if a consumer anyway tries to set the direction to something other than what it is hardcoded to. This didn't happen much before because what we supported was all lines input or output and then the implementer would probably not specify the direction registers, but with sparse fixed direction we can have a mixture so let's take this into account. As a consequence, since gpio_regmap_set_direction() can now fail, alter the semantics in gpio_regmap_direction_output() such that we first check if we can set the direction to output before we set the value and the direction. 2026-05-12PCI: loongson: Do not ignore downstream devices on external bridgesRong Zhang
Loongson PCI host controllers have a hardware quirk that requires software to ignore downstream devices with device number > 0 on the internal bridges. The current implementation applies the workaround to all non-root buses, which breaks external bridges (e.g., PCIe switches) with multiple downstream devices. Fix it by only applying the workaround to internal bridges. 2026-05-12media: sun4i-csi: Return queued buffers on start_streaming() failureValery Borovsky
The vb2 framework hands buffers to the driver via buf_queue() before calling start_streaming(). If start_streaming() returns an error without first returning those buffers via vb2_buffer_done(), vb2_start_streaming() fires WARN_ON(owned_by_drv_count) and the queued buffers leak. sun4i_csi_start_streaming() returned -EINVAL when no matching CSI format could be found, before any setup (scratch buffer allocation, pipeline start) had been performed. The remaining error paths already converge on the err_clear_dma_queue label, which calls return_all_buffers(..., VB2_BUF_STATE_QUEUED) under csi->qlock. Jump to that label directly: the intermediate err_disable_device / err_disable_pipeline / err_free_scratch_buffer labels are skipped, which is correct because nothing they would undo has happened yet. This mirrors the uvcvideo fix in commit 4cf3b6fd54eb ("media: uvcvideo: Return queued buffers on start_streaming() failure"). 2026-05-12media: rtl2832_sdr: Return queued buffers on start_streaming() failureValery Borovsky
The vb2 framework hands buffers to the driver via buf_queue() before calling start_streaming(). If start_streaming() returns an error without first returning those buffers via vb2_buffer_done(), vb2_start_streaming() fires WARN_ON(owned_by_drv_count) and the queued buffers leak. rtl2832_sdr_start_streaming() had multiple error paths that hit this trap: two direct early returns (-ENODEV, -ERESTARTSYS), plus six `goto err` paths covering subdev s_power, tuner setup, ADC setup, stream-buffer allocation, urb allocation, and urb submission failures. None of them returned the queued buffers. The original function had no distinct success exit and fell straight through into the err label, which previously only did mutex_unlock and "return ret". Adding queued-buffer cleanup at err must therefore be paired with an explicit success return; otherwise every successful start would also drain the buffer queue and kill streaming. Add that success return, then add rtl2832_sdr_cleanup_queued_bufs() at the err label and before each early return. The cleanup helper takes a vb2_buffer_state argument so that the start_streaming error paths can pass VB2_BUF_STATE_QUEUED (as expected by userspace on start_streaming failure) while stop_streaming keeps its existing VB2_BUF_STATE_ERROR semantics. This mirrors the uvcvideo fix in commit 4cf3b6fd54eb ("media: uvcvideo: Return queued buffers on start_streaming() failure"). The err label still does not roll back power_ctrl(), frontend_ctrl(), the POWER_ON flag, or stream/URB allocations that may have happened before the failing step. Those are pre-existing leaks of a different class and are not addressed here. The vb2 framework hands buffers to the driver via buf_queue() before calling start_streaming(). If start_streaming() returns an error without first returning those buffers via vb2_buffer_done(), vb2_start_streaming() fires WARN_ON(owned_by_drv_count) and the queued buffers leak. msi2500_start_streaming() had five error paths that all hit this trap and were further tangled by ret-overwriting between calls: - -ENODEV when the USB device was already disconnected - -ERESTARTSYS when mutex_lock_interruptible() was interrupted - msi2500_set_usb_adc() failure: ret was silently overwritten by the next call (msi2500_isoc_init), so the error was lost entirely - msi2500_isoc_init() failure: cleanup_queued_bufs was called, but the function then fell through to msi2500_ctrl_msg() and again masked the original error by overwriting ret - msi2500_ctrl_msg(CMD_START_STREAMING) failure: no cleanup at all, leaving isoc URBs submitted with no way for the driver to consume them Consolidate the error paths into a small goto chain. Every failure now stops the function, drains the queued-buffer list, and returns the real error code. The ctrl_msg failure path also rolls back the preceding msi2500_isoc_init() via msi2500_isoc_cleanup() before unlocking and draining. The cleanup helper takes a vb2_buffer_state argument so that the start_streaming error paths can pass VB2_BUF_STATE_QUEUED (as expected by userspace on start_streaming failure) while stop_streaming keeps its existing VB2_BUF_STATE_ERROR semantics. 2026-05-12media: tegra-video: vi: fix invalid u32 return value in format lookupHungyu Lin
tegra_get_format_fourcc_by_idx() returns a u32 but uses -EINVAL to signal an out-of-bounds index. This results in a large unsigned value being returned, which may be interpreted as a valid fourcc. imx8qxp_pxl2dpi_get_available_ep_from_port() returns ERR_PTR() on errors. imx8qxp_pxl2dpi_find_next_bridge() stores its return value in a __free(device_node) variable before checking IS_ERR(). When the function returns on the error path, the cleanup action calls of_node_put() on the ERR_PTR() value. Do not let a device_node cleanup variable hold error pointers. Change imx8qxp_pxl2dpi_get_available_ep_from_port() to return an int and pass the endpoint node through an output argument. Initialize the output argument to NULL so callers hold either NULL on error paths or a valid device_node pointer on successful path. 2026-05-11qed: fix division by zero in qed_init_wfq_param when all vports are configuredEvgenii Burenchev
In qed_init_wfq_param(), variable non_requested_count can become zero when the number of vports with the configured flag set (including the current vport being configured) equals total num_vports. This happens when configuring the last unconfigured vport or when re-configuring an already configured vport. The function then calculates left_rate_per_vp = total_left_rate / non_requested_count, which causes division by zero. Fix this by skipping the division when non_requested_count is zero. In that case, there is no remaining bandwidth to distribute, so just record the configuration for the current vport and return success. 2026-05-11net: phy: motorcomm: use device properties for firmware tuningchunzhi.lin
The Motorcomm PHY driver reads optional firmware properties via of_property_read_*() from phydev->mdio.dev.of_node. This works for Device Tree based systems, but causes ACPI platforms to ignore the same properties when they are supplied through _DSD. As a result, ACPI-described Motorcomm PHY devices fall back to default settings instead of applying firmware-provided tuning such as rx/tx internal delay, drive strength, clock output frequency, and optional boolean controls like auto-sleep-disabled, keep-pll-enabled, and tx clock inversion. Switch these lookups to device_property_read_*() so the driver uses the generic firmware node interface and can consume the same property names from either Device Tree or ACPI. This keeps the existing DT behavior unchanged while allowing ACPI platforms to honor PHY configuration from firmware. We have completed testing on Sophgo RISC-V architecture server SD3-10. This server has a 64-core Thead C920 CPU whose DWMAC is connected to Motorcomm's PHY YT8531. This server supports UEFI boot and it would like to use the ACPI table. 2026-05-11net: ena: PHC: Check return code before setting timestamp outputArthur Kiyanovski
ena_phc_gettimex64() is setting the output parameter regardless of whether ena_com_phc_get_timestamp() succeeded or failed. When ena_com_phc_get_timestamp() returns an error, the timestamp parameter may contain uninitialized stack memory (e.g., when PHC is disabled or in blocked state) or invalid hardware values. Passing these to userspace via the PTP ioctl is both a security issue (information leak) and a correctness bug. Fix by checking the return code after releasing the lock and only setting the output timestamp on success. 2026-05-11PCI: intel-gw: Fix ATU base address setup and add optional DT 'atu' regionFlorian Eckert
The ATU base address was set in intel_pcie_host_setup(), which is called via pp->ops->init(). However, dw_pcie_get_resources() runs before this callback and sets a default atu_base of 0x300000, which then gets overwritten by the driver's value of 0xC0000. But this ordering is broken because atu_base must be set before dw_pcie_get_resources() runs, not after. So move the atu_base assignment from intel_pcie_host_setup() to intel_pcie_probe() to fix the initialization order. The call stack is: intel_pcie_probe dw_pcie_host_init dw_pcie_host_get_resources dw_pcie_get_resources <- sets atu_base = 0x300000 pp->ops->init intel_pcie_rc_init intel_pcie_host_setup <- was overwriting atu_base here Additionally, add support for parsing the ATU region from the device tree. If an 'atu' region is present in DT, the DWC core parses it via dw_pcie_get_resources() and the driver does not set atu_base explicitly. If 'atu' is absent, the driver falls back to the hardcoded offset (0xC0000 from DBI base) for backwards compatibility, with a warning to the user. 2026-05-11PCI: intel-gw: Enable clock before PHY initFlorian Eckert
To ensure that the boot sequence is correct, the DWC PCIe core clock must be switched on before PHY init call [1]. This changes are based on patched kernel sources of the MaxLinear SDK. The reason why the MaxLinear SDK is used as a reference here is, that this PCIe DWC IP is used in the URX851 and URX850 SoC. This SoC was originally developed by Intel when they acquired Lantiq’s home networking division in 2015 [2]. In 2020 the home network division was sold to MaxLinear [3]. Since then, this SoC belongs to MaxLinear. They use their own SDK, which runs on kernel version '5.15.x'.
