10 daysbus: qcom-ebi2: use managed resources for clocks and childrenPengpeng Hou
qcom_ebi2_probe() enables the EBI2 clocks manually and populates child devices manually. Several later failure paths can then return without disabling the clocks or without relying on the driver core to undo child population. Use devm_clk_get_enabled() for both clocks and devm_of_platform_populate() for children. This lets the driver core unwind the resources automatically and removes the hand-written error labels. 13 daysbus: mhi: host: Flush the posted write after writing to MHI_SOC_RESET_REQ_OFFSETManivannan Sadhasivam
mhi_soc_reset() tries to reset the device by writing to the MHI_SOC_RESET_REQ_OFFSET register. But it doesn't do a read-back to ensure that the write gets flushed to the device before returning to the caller. This may lead to the delay (if implemented) on the caller to be insufficient, if the posted write doesn't reach the device before the delay. So add a read-back after writing to the MHI_SOC_RESET_REQ_OFFSET register. 13 daysbus: mhi: ep: Fix device refcount leak in the error path of MHI device creationYuho Choi
mhi_ep_create_device() takes one device reference for the UL channel and another for the DL channel after allocating the transfer device. These references are normally released by mhi_ep_destroy_device() before the device itself is removed. If dev_set_name() or device_add() fails, the error path currently drops only one reference. The remaining channel references keep the device from being released and leave the channels associated with a device that was never registered. Route both failures through a common unwind path that drops the DL channel reference, the UL channel reference, and the initial reference from device_initialize(). Fixes: 297c77a0f273 ("bus: mhi: ep: Add support for creating and destroying MHI EP devices") Signed-off-by: Yuho Choi <dbgh9129@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Manivannan Sadhasivam <mani@kernel.org> Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20260603195142.2189386-1-dbgh9129@gmail.com
13 daysbus: mhi: core: Fix sys error transition latencyQingtao Cao
Bring forward the idea to fix the power down latency in mhi_pm_disable_transition() further to mhi_pm_sys_error_transition() so that the transition into system error (triggered by AT!RESET) in the modems won't have to return only after the timeout of up to 24 seconds. Once the device gets reset, there is no guarantee that it will send an interrupt to indicate the state transition. So polling is the sensible option here. 2026-07-06bus: qcom-ebi2: Fix clock leak on probe failureRuoyu Wang
qcom_ebi2_probe() enables the EBI2X and EBI2 clocks before it walks child nodes and populates child devices. If reading a child node's reg property fails, or if of_platform_default_populate() fails, probe returns without disabling either clock. Route those failure paths through the existing clock cleanup labels so a failed probe does not leave the clocks prepared and enabled. 2026-07-06bus: ti-sysc: Fix /chosen node reference leakYuho Choi
sysc_init_stdout_path() gets the /chosen node with of_find_node_by_path() to read stdout-path. The function then overwrites the local node pointer with the stdout-path lookup result, or exits on error, without dropping the /chosen reference. Keep the /chosen node in a separate variable and put it after the stdout-path value has been used for the lookup. The successful stdout node lookup remains referenced by the cached stdout_path pointer. 2026-05-27bus: mhi: host: pci_generic: Fix the physical function checkManivannan Sadhasivam
Commit b4d01c5b9a9d ("bus: mhi: host: pci_generic: Read SUBSYSTEM_VENDOR_ID for VF's to check status") added the check for physical function by checking for 'pdev->is_physfn. But 'pdev->is_physfn' is only set for the physical function of a SR-IOV capable device. But for the non-SR-IOV device this variable will be 0. So this check ended up breaking the health check functionality for all non-SR-IOV devices. Fix it by checking for '!pdev->is_virtfn' to make sure that the check is only skipped for virtual functions. 2026-04-04bus: fsl-mc: use generic driver_override infrastructureDanilo Krummrich
When a driver is probed through __driver_attach(), the bus' match() callback is called without the device lock held, thus accessing the driver_override field without a lock, which can cause a UAF. Fix this by using the driver-core driver_override infrastructure taking care of proper locking internally. Note that calling match() from __driver_attach() without the device lock held is intentional. 2026-04-04bus: fsl-mc: wait for the MC firmware to complete its bootIoana Ciornei
There are use cases in which the Management Complex firmware boot process is started by the bootloader which does not wait for the boot to complete. This is mainly done in order to reduce the overall boot time of a DPAA2 based SoC. In this kind of circumstance, the fsl-mc bus driver needs to make sure that the MC firmware boot process is finished before proceeding to the usual operations such as interrogating the firmware to gather all existent DPAA2 objects, creating the fsl-mc devices on the bus etc. Add this kind of check early in the boot process of the fsl-mc bus and defer the probe in case the firmware is still in its boot process. 2026-03-26device property: Make modifications of fwnode "flags" thread safeDouglas Anderson
In various places in the kernel, we modify the fwnode "flags" member by doing either: fwnode->flags |= SOME_FLAG; fwnode->flags &= ~SOME_FLAG; This type of modification is not thread-safe. If two threads are both mucking with the flags at the same time then one can clobber the other. While flags are often modified while under the "fwnode_link_lock", this is not universally true. Create some accessor functions for setting, clearing, and testing the FWNODE flags and move all users to these accessor functions. New accessor functions use set_bit() and clear_bit(), which are thread-safe.
