Enable runtime PM support for i.MX95 PCIe Root Complex to allow dynamic power management when the PCIe link is idle. The i.MX95 PCIe controller supports entering D3hot state when PCIe devices are not actively in use. This implementation uses pm_runtime_no_callbacks() to leverage the PCI core's generic runtime PM handling. The PCI core automatically manages D-state transitions based on the runtime PM state of connected endpoint devices. around hardware bug On some NXP chipsets, disabling Root Port MSI/MSI-X Capabilities blocks MSIs originating from Endpoints from reaching the iMSI-RX controller. To address this hardware bug, commit 3a4e8302e72f ("PCI: imx6: Keep Root Port MSI capability with iMSI-RX to work around hardware bug") preserves Root Port MSI and MSI-X Capabilities on i.MX7D, i.MX8MM, and i.MX8MQ when iMSI-RX is in use. The same applies to i.MX6Q, i.MX6QP, and i.MX6SX, so preserve Root Port MSI/MSI-X Capabilities there as well. Note that preserving these Capabilities means Root Port-originated MSIs such as AER and PME won't be received due to separate hardware limitations. Users may need to use workarounds such as passing the 'pcie_pme=nomsi' command-line parameter. When MSI is enabled but the DWC built-in iMSI-RX is not used, MSI must be handled via the GIC ITS. Configure all controller MSI registers accordingly. Set or clear the MSICAP0 MSIE bit and the PCIEINTSTS0EN MSI_CTRL_INT bit based on the MSI enable state. Set both bits when MSI is enabled. Clear both bits when MSI is disabled. When MSI is disabled, or when MSI is enabled together with iMSI-RX, clear AXIINTCADDR and AXIINTCCONT to disable any pass through of MSI TLPs onto the AXI bus and further into the GIC ITS translation registers. When MSI is enabled and iMSI-RX is not used, program AXIINTCADDR with the target address of the GIC ITS translation register, and program AXIINTCCONT to enable MSI TLP pass through onto the AXI bus and into the GIC ITS. This configuration allows the GIC ITS to handle MSI instead of the integrated iMSI-RX. The driver includes linux/irqchip/arm-gic-v3.h which pulls in headers which are available only on ARM and ARM64, on other architectures the headers are not present and the driver fails to build. This driver is used only on ARM64 hardware, so isolate its build only to ARM64 to avoid build failures on other architectures. Previously, pci_pwrctrl_create_devices() was placed in imx_pcie_host_init(), which is the .init callback of dw_pcie_host_ops. This callback is invoked not only during probe, but also during resume. This caused pci_pwrctrl_create_devices() to be called multiple times across suspend/resume cycles, which is unnecessary since the pwrctrl devices only need to be created once. Move pci_pwrctrl_create_devices() to imx_pcie_probe() so that it is only called once during probe, similar to other regulator_get calls. The R-Car Gen4 PCIe controller integration configures MSI registers in the controller driver pp->ops->init() callback because they have to be configured while PERST# is asserted, and PERST# is asserted across the controller driver pp->ops->init() callback. A future change to the R-Car Gen4 pp->ops->init() callback will need to know whether iMSI-RX is in use. Assign pp->use_imsi_rx before calling pp->ops->init() so pp->use_imsi_rx is available. 2026-07-07PCI: qcom: Skip PERST# GPIOs provided by downstream PCIe devicesManivannan Sadhasivam
Currently, the pcie-qcom driver recursively parses the PERST# GPIO from all child nodes defined in DT and acquires them. But this creates issues with PERST# GPIO provided by one of the child devices like the PCIe switch port. In this case, the RC driver cannot acquire the PERST# GPIO since it will be provided by the child PCIe device which was not yet enumerated during RC driver probe. Fix this by checking if the GPIO provider is a child of the RC's DT node (i.e., sits behind this PCIe controller). If so, skip it, as PERST# should be controlled by the respective PCIe client driver implementation. GPIOs provided by external GPIO controllers (e.g., TLMM in Qcom SoCs) continue to be handled normally. Meson devicetree defines the PERST# GPIO as 'reset' GPIO. Commit 4d3186a525b3 ("PCI: amlogic: Fix reset assertion via gpio descriptor") inverted the PERST# assertion logic to use proper GPIO descriptor semantics and moved the polarity configuration to the device tree as GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW. However, the initial PERST# GPIO state "GPIOD_OUT_LOW" was not updated accordingly. This results in the enumeration failure of the endpoint devices as PERST# would get deasserted while requesting the GPIO even before power and REFCLK becomes stable. 2026-06-30PCI: host-generic: Move legacy DT binding fallback decision to caller of ↵Sherry Sun
pci_host_common_parse_ports() pci_host_common_parse_ports() returns -ENODEV if the bridge nodes (RP) are not present or PERST# is only found in the Root Complex node. Then the callers (currently just pci-imx6) assume that they need to fall back to parsing the legacy DT binding. But this behavior won't scale across Root Complex designs because PERST# is not the only optional property that the callers would need to consider for falling back to legacy binding. There could be many properties and the API cannot incorporate all of them. So to keep the API implementation simple, just return 0 when bridge nodes were not found. Then it is up to the caller to use its own logic to decide whether to fall back to legacy binding or not. Since there is only one caller now, update the caller to skip -ENODEV check and check for the PERST# GPIO in any of the bridge nodes and fall back to legacy binding if not found. 2026-06-12of: Factor arguments passed to of_map_id() into a structCharan Teja Kalla
Change of_map_id() to take a pointer to struct of_phandle_args instead of passing target device node and translated IDs separately. Update all callers accordingly. Add an explicit filter_np parameter to of_map_id() and of_map_msi_id() to separate the filter input from the output. Previously, the target parameter served dual purpose: as an input filter (if non-NULL, only match entries targeting that node) and as an output (receiving the matched node with a reference held). Now filter_np is the explicit input filter and arg->np is the pure output. Previously, of_map_id() would call of_node_put() on the matched node when a filter was provided, making reference ownership inconsistent. Remove this internal of_node_put() call so that of_map_id() now always transfers ownership of the matched node reference to the caller via arg->np. Callers are now consistently responsible for releasing this reference with of_node_put(arg->np) when done. RAS DES capability dwc_pcie_rasdes_debugfs_init() returns success when the controller has no RAS DES capability, leaving pci->debugfs->rasdes_info unset. The common debugfs teardown path still calls dwc_pcie_rasdes_debugfs_deinit(), which dereferences rasdes_info unconditionally. Return early when no RAS DES state was allocated. In that case no RAS DES mutex was initialized, so there is nothing to destroy. 2026-06-09PCI: meson: Add missing remove callbackShuvam Pandey
meson_pcie_probe() powers on the PHY and registers the DesignWare host bridge with dw_pcie_host_init(), but the driver has no remove callback. On driver unbind or module unload, the driver core therefore proceeds to devres cleanup without first unregistering the host bridge or powering off the PHY. Add a remove callback that deinitializes the DesignWare host bridge and powers off the PHY while device-managed resources are still valid. meson_pcie_probe_clock() enables a clock and then registers a devres action to disable it during teardown. If devm_add_action_or_reset() fails, it runs the action immediately, disabling the clock. The return value is currently ignored, so on that failure path, meson_pcie_probe_clock() returns the disabled clock and probe continues. Return the error so the existing probe error path unwinds normally. 2026-06-09PCI: imx6: Assert ref_clk_en after reference clock stabilizes on i.MX95Richard Zhu
According to the PHY Databook Common Block Signals section, the ref_clk_en signal must remain de-asserted until the reference clock is running at the appropriate frequency. Once the clock is stable, ref_clk_en can be asserted. For lower power states where the reference clock to the PHY is disabled, ref_clk_en should also be de-asserted. Move the ref_clk_en bit manipulation into imx95_pcie_enable_ref_clk() to ensure the reference clock stabilizes before ref_clk_en is asserted and before the PHY reset is de-asserted. This aligns with the timing requirements specified in the PHY documentation. 2026-06-09PCI: dwc: Replace ATU type macros with common TLP type macrosHans Zhang
The dwc driver defines its own ATU type macros (PCIE_ATU_TYPE_MEM, PCIE_ATU_TYPE_IO, PCIE_ATU_TYPE_CFG0, PCIE_ATU_TYPE_CFG1, PCIE_ATU_TYPE_MSG) with the same numerical values as the newly introduced common TLP type macros. Remove the local definitions and switch all DWC users to the common PCIE_TLP_TYPE_* macros. This eliminates redundancy and improves consistency across PCI controller drivers.
