Building mlx5 on s390 shows a rather high stack usage that can exceed
the warning limit when that is set to a lower but still reasonable value:
drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/wr.c:1051:5: error: stack frame size (1328) exceeds limit (1280) in 'mlx5_ib_post_send' [-Werror,-Wframe-larger-than]
The problem here is 'struct ib_reg_wr' on the stack of
handle_reg_mr_integrity(), which gets inlined into mlx5_ib_post_send()
along with a number of smaller functions.
Keeping the inner function out of line like gcc does avoids the
warning and reduces the total stack usage in other functions called
from mlx5_ib_post_send(), though handle_reg_mr_integrity() itself
still has the same problem as before.

Probe information replies contain a firmware-provided element count. IPC3
uses that count to copy an array, then returns the unchecked count to its
caller. A short reply can therefore make the caller walk beyond the copied
array.
IPC4 similarly uses the count both to allocate the destination array and
to walk the reply. On 32-bit systems the allocation size can wrap, while on
all systems an excessive count reads beyond the reply payload.
Validate each count against the actual reply size before copying or
allocating the array, and use kcalloc() for the IPC4 allocation.

tascam_disconnect() cancels capture_work and midi_in_work before
usb_kill_anchored_urbs() kills the capture/MIDI-in URBs. Those URBs
self-resubmit, and their completion handlers reschedule the work.
A URB that completes in the small window between cancel_work_sync() and
usb_kill_anchored_urbs() therefore re-arms the work after its only
cancel. Nothing cancels it again before snd_card_free() frees the
card-private tascam structure, so the work handler then runs on freed
memory.
Kill the anchored URBs before cancelling the work; once the work is
cancelled no remaining URB can complete to re-arm it.

IORING_OP_MSG_RING with IORING_MSG_RING_FLAGS_PASS allows a sender to
pass completion flags through sqe->file_index. If the sender sets
IORING_CQE_F_32 in file_index, the target-side completion path treats it
as a 32b CQE and writes big_cqe[0] and big_cqe[1] into the CQ ring
regardless of whether the target ring was created with
IORING_SETUP_CQE32 or IORING_SETUP_CQE_MIXED.
On a normal 16b CQE ring, this writes 16 extra bytes (two u64 big_cqe
fields) into the next CQE slot in the ring buffer. As the receiving ring
doesn't understand 32b CQEs, this is incorrect and they should be
rejected.

get_unmapped_area() returns -ENOMEM when io_uring_validate_mmap_request()
fails, but validation errors are -EINVAL. Propagate that errno to
userspace, like io_uring_mmap() already does.

This happens because SCSI disk rescan is executed from a work context
and a failure of blk_revalidate_disk_zones() causes a call to
disk_free_zone_resources() which will free the disk zone write plug
workqueue.
Avoid this by delaying the destruction of the disk zone write plug
workqueue to disk_release(). Do this by introducing the function
disk_release_zone_resources() and using this new function from
disk_release(). This new function destroys the zone write plugs workqueue
and calls disk_free_zone_resources(), thus allowing to remove the call to
destroy_workqueue() from disk_free_zone_resources().
disk_alloc_zone_resources() is modified to not create the disk zone
write plug work queue if it already exists.

In tps6594_regulator_probe(), the multi-phase configuration loop calls
of_find_node_by_name() to find buck nodes by name, and of_get_parent()
twice to navigate to the PMIC parent node. None of the acquired node
references (np, intermediate parent, np_pmic_parent) are ever released
via of_node_put(), causing a reference leak on every loop iteration.
Additionally, of_find_node_by_name() can return NULL, but the result was
immediately passed to of_node_full_name() and of_get_parent() without a
NULL check, which could lead to a NULL pointer dereference.
Fix this by:
- Adding a NULL check for np after of_find_node_by_name()
- Storing the intermediate parent node in a local variable np_parent
- Calling of_node_put() on np, np_parent and np_pmic_parent at the
end of each loop iteration

intel_cmtg_disable() indexes the per-transcoder register array using the
CMTG transcoder returned by to_cmtg_transcoder(), which is only valid for
TRANSCODER_A/B. The callers are now gated by intel_cmtg_is_allowed(), so
reaching this function with an invalid CMTG transcoder should never
happen.
Add a drm_WARN_ON() that bails out early in that case, both to document
the invariant and to guard against the out-of-bounds register access
(trans_offsets[-1]) should a future caller get it wrong.

intel_cmtg_disable() maps crtc_state->cpu_transcoder to a CMTG transcoder
via to_cmtg_transcoder(), which only returns a valid transcoder for
TRANSCODER_A/B. The disable call sites in hsw_crtc_disable() and the
fastset/VRR path only check the sticky crtc->cmtg.enabled flag, so during
a big-joiner reconfiguration that moves the eDP across pipes
intel_cmtg_disable() can be reached with a crtc_state whose cpu_transcoder
does not map to a CMTG transcoder. That results in a negative
register-array index (trans_offsets[-1]) and a UBSAN
array-index-out-of-bounds splat:

There is a comment in vfs_prepare_mode() that says:
Note that it's currently valid for @type to be 0 if a directory is
created. Filesystems raise that flag individually and we need to check
whether each filesystem can deal with receiving S_IFDIR from the vfs
before we enforce a non-zero type.
It is useful to do this clean-up ahead of O_CREAT|O_DIRECTORY.
Specifically, in lookup_open() we need to replace the vfs_prepare_mode()
with something that also handles dirs. I don't really want to push the
odd
mode = vfs_prepare_mode(idmap, dir, mode, S_IRWXUGO | S_ISVTX, 0);
further into that code, and neither do I want this to be different from
the regular vfs_mkdir() path. We can then also match on S_IFMT in
may_o_create(), instead of passing a bool to signal whether we are
creating a dir (and assuming 0 means a dir is really ugly).
It is a bit challenging to verify that passing S_IFDIR is safe, as there
are many filesystems. Claude Opus 4.8 was used to generate the context
for each mkdir implementation from which it can be judged whether
passing S_IFDIR is OK. The result was then verified by hand by looking
at how the mode argument is used in each case. To check whether all
mkdir implementations are covered, 'rg "\.mkdir" ' was used and checked
against the list of uses Claude found.
It is safe to do this clean-up except that three filesystems (fuse,
cifs, and coda) forward the mkdir @mode unchanged to something outside
the kernel. Mask S_IFDIR back out in coda_mkdir(), fuse_mkdir() and
cifs_mkdir() so that what is sent outside the kernel is unchanged.
Their maintainers can drop the mask once they have confirmed it is safe.
For the other filesystems redundant S_IFDIR OR'ing is dropped.

There is a comment in vfs_prepare_mode() that says:
Note that it's currently valid for @type to be 0 if a directory is
created. Filesystems raise that flag individually and we need to check
whether each filesystem can deal with receiving S_IFDIR from the vfs
before we enforce a non-zero type.
It is safe to do this clean-up except that three filesystems (fuse,
cifs, and coda) forward the mkdir @mode unchanged to something outside
the kernel. Mask S_IFDIR back out in coda_mkdir(), fuse_mkdir() and
cifs_mkdir() so that what is sent outside the kernel is unchanged.
Their maintainers can drop the mask once they have confirmed it is safe.

Implement wake IRQ support for the mvebu GPIO controller:
- Replace unused irqbase field with bank_irq[4] to store per-bank
IRQ numbers for use in the wake-up callback.
- Add mvebu_gpio_set_wake_irq() that forwards enable_irq_wake /
disable_irq_wake to the correct parent IRQ based on hwirq.
- Set IRQCHIP_SET_TYPE_MASKED and IRQCHIP_MASK_ON_SUSPEND flags
on both level and edge chip types.
- Set IRQ_GC_INIT_NESTED_LOCK for the nested irq domain.
- Add missing <linux/interrupt.h> include.

The updated SIUL2 block groups pinctrl, GPIO data access
and interrupt control within the same hardware unit.
The SIUL2 driver is therefore structured as a monolithic
pinctrl/GPIO driver.
GPIO data access and direction handling are implemented using the
gpio-regmap library backed by a virtual regmap. The virtual regmap
translates the gpio-regmap register model to the underlying SIUL2
registers: MSCR for direction, PGPDI for input values and PGPDO for
output values.
The existing pinctrl GPIO callbacks are used for the request/free path:
they switch the pad to GPIO mode on request and restore the previous
MSCR configuration when the GPIO is released.

Extend the S32G2 SIUL2 pinctrl binding to describe the GPIO data and
external interrupt resources present in the same SIUL2 hardware block.
Besides the MSCR and IMCR registers used for pin multiplexing and pad
configuration, SIUL2 also contains PGPDO and PGPDI registers
for GPIO data and EIRQ registers for external interrupt control.
Add GPIO controller properties because the SIUL2 block also provides
GPIO functionality, and gpio-ranges are needed to describe the
mapping between GPIO lines and pin controller pins.
Document the interrupt controller properties. The SIUL2 block
contains EIRQ hardware as part of the same register space. IRQ support
itself will be added in a follow-up patch series.
Update the example accordingly to show the complete SIUL2 register
layout, including the GPIO data and EIRQ register windows.

__xfs_buf_ioend can only resubmit the buffer for asynchronous
writes, which means the retry handling xfs_buf_iowait is not needed.
Because of this can stop returning a value from __xfs_buf_ioend and
just release the buffer for async I/O that does not require retries.
Also drop the __-prefix now that the semantics are straight forward.

Synchronous readers and writers already run __xfs_buf_ioend from
xfs_buf_iowait after being woken through bp->b_iowait, so we
should not call it here, which can lead to double completions.
