Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd:
"Mostly the usual clk driver updates and new SoC additions plus
non-critical data fixes for things that weren't used yet.
One thing that's new here in the core is SSC spread spectrum support
(SSC) in the clk provider API. The idea is that DT authors will
configure SSC for certain clks and they'll be configured at clk
provider registration time or when a consumer device is probed,
similar to how we handle assigned clk rates or parents.
On the clk driver side we have Qualcomm adding almost half the diff
because they add support for 4 different SoCs and then a long tail of
other SoCs like Mediatek, Renesas, Rockchip, SpaceMiT, etc. add more
SoC support this time around. Luckily it's mostly clk data for these
new SoCs because the actual clk_ops are already there. Beyond the new
drivers we get all the little fixups for more compilation coverage or
usage of more modern APIs. That all looks normal.
Finally, I kinda buried the lede, I'm bringing on Brian and Jerome to
help out with maintaining the clk subsystem. The current working model
is already semi-distributed in that silicon vendors typically take
care of their drivers and send me pull requests but I'm becoming a
bottleneck for new drivers and core framework review because this has
become a 100% volunteer effort on my part.
Mike is stepping down after all these years (thanks Mike!) and that
jump started the conversation around finding co-maintainers. Brian and
Jerome have graciously offered to help me with the work load, meaning
in the future they'll be sending pull requests and committing directly
to the clk.git tree. They've both been around on the list for a while,
I've met them both in person, and they've been making changes to the
core clk framework along with helping review patches so I'm pretty
confident this will work well.

mtk_mfg_attach_dev() reads prev_o on the first iteration of its loop,
in "if (prev_o && prev_o->freq == o->freq)", before prev_o is assigned
at the end of the loop body. On that first iteration, evaluating prev_o
reads an indeterminate value. If it is non-NULL, the condition
dereferences a stale or invalid pointer, potentially faulting or
incorrectly skipping the first OPP.
Initialize prev_o to NULL. This matches the intent as well: there is no
previous OPP to compare against on the first iteration.
Found with Clang's -Wconditional-uninitialized.

Depending on firmware, part of the MFG domains may be partially left ON
at boot time with kernel detecting PD as ON, while it's OFF.
Some of MFG cores may be left powered after bootloader, to let the ACP to
prefetch the GPU region when the display controller is brought up for a
continuous splash animation performed by downstream stack.
This doesn't play well with an eventual delay in probing upstream Panfrost
driver when the display controller is fully set up, as that would make
genpd's sync_state() to power off the domain while ACP tries to prefetch:
this is causing an AXI stall, effectively freezing the AP indefinitely.
In order to prevent trouble from happening, the sync_state() functionality
must be obliterated on all of the MFG domains: while this guarantees a
power leakage if the bootloader boots the kernel with MFG PDs partially
powered on, this is the only way to ensure stable operation of the SoC
during boot on devices with such firmware because, of course, those will
never officially receive a firmware update.

scpsys_get_bus_protection_legacy() looks up several legacy bus
protection regmaps from device-tree nodes.
Two error paths put the device node before checking whether the regmap
lookup failed, but still pass that node to dev_err_probe() with %pOF on
failure. If of_node_put() drops the last reference, the later %pOF
formatting can dereference a freed device node.
Keep the node reference until after the error message has been emitted in
the infracfg and SMI lookup paths. Also drop the SMI node before
returning when the SMI phandle is missing.

For the PCIE_PHY (also called PEXTP_PHY) type of RTFF hardware,
there is special handling setting CLK_DIS before performing the
NRESTORE sequence for resetting the RTFF and start sequencing
from a clean state.
That special handling, though, poses an issue in case the machine
specific bootchain (bootloader in particular) ends up booting the
kernel with both PCIe MAC and PHY enabled (not just power domains)
as doing so will partially corrupt the PCIe MAC/PHY registers in
an unpredictable manner, producing either an initialization fail
in the PCI-Express drivers, or even a hard lockup!
Resolve this by simply removing the special handling: in this case
the bootchain, or remote processors, setting is getting honored by
the later check for PWR_RTFF_SAVE_FLAG presence in the RTFF ctl
register.

On recent MediaTek SoCs such as MT6858, the kernel is required to use
a secure monitor call (SMC) to enable or disable the modem power domain.
The power domain control register can be read, but firmware prevents it
from being modified directly. Some other parts of the power sequence,
such as setting the ext_buck_iso register, still need to be performed on
the kernel side.
In preparation for modem support, add a flag to enable this new power
sequence for SoCs that need it. Power domains using this flag are not
expected to configure any bus protection registers, since these are
handled internally by the SMC call.

Some new SoCs like MT8196, MT6991, and others, have got one
additional power controller (usually in the HFRP Multimedia
block) which needs a simplified power on/off sequence while
using Direct Control strategy.
Domains using the "simple power sequence" are not backed by
the RTFF hardware, have no Bus Protection mechanism, lacks
the ISO, PWR_ON, PWR_ON_2ND bits, and therefore get enabled
automatically after getting out of reset.
This simple power sequence is then a subset of the full one
as only needs the enablement of the specific power domain's
clock input and reset (where, again, after getting out of
reset, the ISO and PWR_ON bits are automatically internally
getting flipped) to enable or disable (power on or off).
Moreover, the simple power sequence power domains guarantee
that they always get enabled/disabled after executing the
relevant power sequence (on/off) so, differently from the
others, there is also no need to poll for a PWR_ACK.

In case any probe error occurs (usually, a probe deferral) the
power domains shall be cleaned up while respecting their child
to parent relationship, or the system may freeze.
In order to do that without any memory footprint impacts after
the fact, allocate a temporary array in the probe function and
use it to store the indices of the added power domains in the
correct order.
This will be used in the error cleanup path and will be freed
at the end regardless of the probe status as, when the probing
succeeds, the genpd API takes care of unregistering all PDs in
the correct order anyway.

Should probe fail for HW_VOTER type power domains, this driver was
unconditionally trying to perform cleanup for DIRECT_CTL domains,
but only after checking if the target domain is powered on... with
the DIRECT_CTL scpsys_domain_is_on() code again.
And there's more: the scpsys_domain_is_on() function is also being
unconditionally used in the probe path, for any power domain that
has flag MTK_SCPD_KEEP_DEFAULT_OFF!
This bug was never experienced by anyone because the HWV domains
never failed probe, and because none of those is declared with the
aforementioned flag - but it's still something critical.
In order to fix this, add a check for MTCMOS Type and, based on
that, call the correct functions for an "is on" check, and also
do the same for the cleanup path, calling the correct functions
for the "power off" action.
For the latter, since there's a call to pm_genpd_remove() right
before calling power_off, be cautious and add a variation of the
power off functions (with a _internal suffix) for those to get a
pointer to scpsys_domain instead of one to generic_pm_domain as,
even if that's still working, this is way too much fragile and
would break at some point.

In scpsys_get_bus_protection_legacy(), of_find_node_with_property()
returns a device node with its reference count incremented. The function
then calls of_node_put(node) before checking whether
syscon_regmap_lookup_by_phandle() returns an error. If an error occurs,
dev_err_probe() dereferences the node pointer to print diagnostic
information, but the node memory may have already been freed due to the
earlier of_node_put(), leading to a use-after-free vulnerability.
Fix this by moving the of_node_put() call after the error check, ensuring
the node is still valid when accessed in the error path.

Remove scpsys_get_legacy_regmap(), replacing its usage with
of_find_node_with_property(). Explicitly call of_node_get(np) before each
of_find_node_with_property() to maintain correct node reference counting.
The of_find_node_with_property() function "consumes" its input by calling
of_node_put() internally, whether or not it finds a match. Currently,
dev->of_node (np) is passed multiple times in sequence without incrementing
its reference count, causing it to be decremented multiple times and
risking early memory release.
Adding of_node_get(np) before each call balances the reference count,
preventing premature node release.

For some reason, of_find_node_with_property() is creating a spinlock
recursion issue along with fwnode_count_parents(), and this issue
is making all MediaTek boards unbootable.
As of kernel v6.18-rc6, there are only three users of this function,
one of which is this driver.
Migrate away from of_find_node_with_property() by adding a local
scpsys_get_legacy_regmap_node() function, which acts similarly to
of_find_node_with_property(), and calling the former in place of
the latter.

The mtk-mfg pmdomain driver calls common mailbox framework functions. If
the common mailbox framework is not selected in the kernel's
configuration, the build runs into a linker error, as the symbols are
absent.
The hardware mailbox Kconfig system, MAILBOX, has no dependencies of its
own. It's therefore safe to "select" it rather than use "depend on".
Declare this "select" dependency in the Kconfig for the driver.

by MediaTek. On the MT8196 and MT6991 SoCs, interacting with this
integration silicon is required to power on the GPU.
This glue silicon is in the form of an embedded microcontroller running
special-purpose firmware, which autonomously adjusts clocks and
regulators.
Implement a driver, modelled as a pmdomain driver with a
set_performance_state operation, to support these SoCs.
The driver also exposes the actual achieved clock rate, as read back
from the MCU, as common clock framework clocks, by acting as a clock
provider as well.

Some SoCs, like the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 (MT6991), have granular
power controls and will disable power to the infracfg to save power
when the platform is in deeper sleep states (or when no IP in the
the infracfg macro-block is in use).
These chips also cannot control the infracfg power states directly
via AP register writes as those are protected by the secure world.
Add a new MTK_SCPD_INFRA_PWR_CTL cap and, if present, make a call
to the secure world to poweron the infracfg block, as the HWV IP
resides in there, when executing HWV domains power sequences.

New generation SoCs like MT8196/MT6991 feature a new type of power
domains, managed by a Hardware Voter (HWV) helper (through a SoC
internal fixed-function MCU): this is used to collect votes from
both the AP and the various other remote processors present in the
SoC and transparently power on/off various power domains, avoiding
unpowered access of registers in various internal IPs from all of
the integrated remote processors (or from the AP...!).
Add a new power domain type and differentiate between the old
SCPSYS_MTCMOS_TYPE_DIRECT_CTL - where power domains are controlled
directly by and exclusively from the Application Processor, and
the new SCPSYS_MTCMOS_TYPE_HW_VOTER, where the power domains are
voted through the HWV.
With the two needing different handling, check the power domain
type and assign a different power_{off,on} callback for pm_genpd:
for this specific reason, also move the check for the SCPD cap
MTK_SCPD_KEEP_DEFAULT_OFF after the assignment, and use the
assigned power_on function instead of calling scpsys_power_on()
directly to make that work for both HW_VOTER and DIRECT_CTL.

In MT8195 power domain data array, set the KEEP_DEFAULT_OFF and
ACTIVE_WAKEUP flags for the AUDIO power domain entry to avoid
having this domain being on during boot sequence when unneeded.

The round_rate() clk ops is deprecated, so migrate this driver from
round_rate() to determine_rate() using the Coccinelle semantic patch
appended to the "under-the-cut" portion of the patch.
Note that prior to running the Coccinelle,
airoha_cpu_pmdomain_clk_round() was renamed to
airoha_cpu_pmdomain_clk_round_rate().

Add the bus_prot_blocks handle and declare num_bus_prot_blocks to
allow all of the currently supported AArch64 MediaTek SoCs to use
the new style regmap retrieval in the driver when a new style

New generation SoCs use a new RTFF Hardware to save power during
operation of various IPs, other than managing isolation of the
internal buck converters during powerup/down of power domains.
Since some of the power domains need different RTFF handling, add
a new scpys_rtff_type enumeration and hold the value for each
power domain in struct scpsys_domain_data.
If RTFF HW is available, the RTFF additional power sequences are
handled in scpsys_ctl_pwrseq_{on,off}().

Add support for the modem power domains by adding its specific
power sequence in functions scpsys_modem_pwrseq_{on,off}() and
call them if the flag MTK_SCPD_MODEM_PWRSEQ is present.
While at it, since some SoC models need to skip setting/clearing
the PWR_RST_B_BIT, also add a MTK_SCPD_SKIP_RESET_B flag for that.

Some SoCs, and even some subsystems in the same SoC, may have the
logic for SRAM power-down inverted, as in, setting the bit means
"power down" and unsetting means "power up": this is because some
hardware subsystems use this as a power-lock indication and some
use this as a power down one (for example, usually, the modem ss
has it inverted!).
In preparation for adding support for power domains with inverted
SRAM_PDN bits, add a new MTK_SCPD_SRAM_PDN_INVERTED flag and check
for it in scpsys_sram_enable() and scpsys_sram_disable().

In preparation to add support for new generation SoCs like MT8196,
MT6991 and other variants, which require to set bus protection on
different busses than the ones found on legacy chips, and to also
simplify and reduce memory footprint of this driver, refactor the
mechanism to retrieve and use the bus protection regmaps.
This is done by removing the three pointers to struct regmap from
struct scpsys_domain (allocated for each power domain) and moving
them to the main struct scpsys (allocated per driver instance) as
an array of pointers to regmap named **bus_prot.
That deprecates the old devicetree properties to grab phandles to
the three predefined busses (infracfg, infracfg-nao and smi) and
replaces it with the base property "access-controllers" that is
meant to be an array of phandles holding the same busses where
required (for now - for legacy SoCs).
The new bus protection phandles are indexed by the bus_prot_index
member of struct scpsys, used to map "bus type" (ex.: infra, smi,
etc) to the specific *bus_prot[x] element.
While the old per-power-domain regmap pointers were removed, the
support for old devicetree was retained by still checking if the
new property (in DT) and new-style declaration (in SoC specific
platform data) are both present at probe time.
If those are not present, a lookup for the old properties will be
done in all of the children of the power controller, and pointers
to regmaps will be retrieved with the old properties, but then
will be internally remapped to follow the new style regmap anyway
as to let this driver benefit of the memory footprint reduction.
Finally, it was necessary to change macros in mtk-pm-domains.h and
in mt8365-pm-domains.h to make use of the new style bus protection
declaration, as the actual HW block is now recognized not by flags
but by its own scpsys_bus_prot_block enumeration.
The BUS_PROT_(STA)_COMPONENT_{INFRA,INFRA_NAO,SMI} flags were also
removed since they are now unused, and because that enumeration was
initially meant to vary the logic of bus protection and not the bus
where work is performed, anyway!

A recent change to the syscon regmap API caused the MediaTek power
controller drivers to fail, as the required regmap could no longer be
retrieved. The error did not have an accompanying message, making the
failure less obvious. The aforementioned change has since been reverted.
Add error messages to all the regmap retrievals, thereby making all
error paths in scpsys_add_one_domain() have visible error messages.

The use of R7 in the SMCCC conflicts with the compiler's use of R7 as a frame
pointer in Thumb2 mode, which is forcibly enabled by Clang when profiling
hooks are inserted via the -pg switch.
This is a known issue and similar driver workaround this with a Makefile
ifdef. Exact workaround are applied in
drivers/firmware/arm_scmi/transports/Makefile and other similar driver.

Add Airoha CPU PM Domain support to control frequency and power of CPU
present on Airoha EN7581 SoC.
Frequency and power can be controlled with the use of the SMC command by
passing the performance state. The driver also expose a read-only clock
that expose the current CPU frequency with SMC command.
