Pull nfsd updates from Chuck Lever: - CB_NOTIFY support for NFSD's NFSv4.1 directory delegations The server used to recall a delegation as soon as the directory changed. NFSD now watches delegated directories through fsnotify and reports adds, removes, renames, and directory attribute changes, carrying the filehandle and attributes of the affected entry, so clients can keep their caches. Some of the NOTIFY4 flags come from RFC 8881bis (Jeff Layton) - Continued netlink work A new server-stats-get operation reports what /proc/net/rpc/nfsd publishes, plus NFSv4 callback counts, and SUNRPC now keeps its per-procedure call counts per network namespace, so a container sees its own numbers. nfsstat reads all of this over netlink, with a procfs fallback for older kernels (Jeff Layton) - Remove SUNRPC service thread pool mode selection Per node is the right choice on any host we run today, so the auto, global, and percpu modes have been removed. A single-node host still gets one pool. A multi-NUMA host now gets a pool per node. sunrpc.pool_mode accepts the old names but no longer selects anything. - Bug fixes, clean-ups, and small optimizations: - async COPY offload rework (Jeff Layton) - more use-after-free fixes in the NFSv4 state revocation paths - percpu counter contention removed from the reply cache and IO accounting - a long list of hardening fixes (Chris Mason) Sincere thanks to all contributors, reviewers, testers, and bug reporters who participated in the v7.3 NFSD development cycle. * tag 'nfsd-7.3' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/cel/linux: (182 commits) nfsd: export NFSv4 callback op stats via netlink nfsd: count NFSv4 callback operations per netns sunrpc: remove unused svc_version vs_count field nfsd: implement server-stats-get netlink handler sunrpc: use per-net counts in svc_seq_show() sunrpc: add per-netns per-procedure call counts to svc_stat NFSD: Document reply_cache_stats ABI NFSD: Eliminate percpu counter contention in IO byte accounting NFSD: Eliminate percpu counter contention in reply cache statistics NFSD: Eliminate percpu counter contention in DRC memory accounting NFSD: Fix off-by-one in DRC bucket pruning limit NFSD: Relocate NFSv4 "supported attributes" to new header NFSD: Relocate nfsd4_set_netaddr() NFSD: Relocate nfsd_user_namespace() NFSD: Move struct readdir_cd NFSD: Move the export.h include from nfsd.h to auth.c NFSD: Remove '#include "nfsd.h"' from fs/nfsd/cache.h NFSD: include "netns.h" NFSD: Explicitly include "stats.h" NFSD: Make "stats.h" self-contained ...

Add the del-reason attribute and its enum to the route attribute set, and to the getroute reply, which the route notifications reuse. The attribute is absent from the newroute and delroute request lists. RTA_DEL_REASON is above strict_start_type in rtm_ipv6_policy, so encoding it in a request is rejected with -EINVAL. 2026-08-10nfsd: export NFSv4 callback op stats via netlinkJeff Layton
Add a proc4cb-ops nested attribute to the server-stats netlink dump, reusing the existing server-proc-entry (op/count) layout. The dump gains a callback section that emits one entry per callback opcode (OP_CB_GETATTR..OP_CB_OFFLOAD) from the per-netns callback counters, paged across messages like the other per-operation sections. This lets nfsstat report NFSv4 backchannel operation counts over netlink, including CB_GETATTR which corresponds to the procfs wdeleg_getattr line. 2026-08-10nfsd: implement server-stats-get netlink handlerJeff Layton
Implement nfsd_nl_server_stats_get_dumpit() which exposes the NFS server statistics currently available via /proc/net/rpc/nfsd through the nfsd generic netlink family. The handler uses a dump operation to stream statistics across one or more netlink messages. The reply is divided into sections that are emitted in order: - scalar stats (reply cache, filehandle, IO, network, RPC), emitted once in the first message, then - per-version procedure counts (proc2/3/4-ops) and the NFSv4 per-operation counts (proc4ops-ops), using the per-netns vs_count arrays. cb->args[0] tracks the current section and cb->args[1] the entry index within it, so a section that does not fit in the current message is closed and resumed in the next one. This matters because the first dump message is allocated at NLMSG_GOODSIZE (a single page on most architectures) regardless of the client's receive buffer; packing every counter into one message would overflow it and fail the dump with -EMSGSIZE. Userspace merges the attributes from every message. This allows nfsstat to retrieve server statistics via netlink with a procfs fallback for older kernels. 2026-08-07net: devmem: allow rx-page-size > PAGE_SIZE per dmabuf bindingBobby Eshleman
Every devmem dmabuf binding today hands the page_pool PAGE_SIZE niovs. This caps a single RX descriptor at PAGE_SIZE, burning CPU on buffer churn for large flows. Add a bind-time netlink attribute, NETDEV_A_DMABUF_RX_PAGE_SIZE, that lets userspace request a larger niov size. The value must be a power of two >= PAGE_SIZE. The TX path is changed to always pass PAGE_SIZE. 2026-08-06rtnetlink: cap IFLA_VFINFO_LIST at a documented number of VFsArtem Lytkin
rtnl_fill_vf() emits one IFLA_VF_INFO per VF into the IFLA_VFINFO_LIST nest and closes it with nla_nest_end(), which stores the accumulated length into nla_len. That field is a u16, so a nest larger than 65535 bytes is written truncated modulo 65536. The list dates back to commit c02db8c6290b ("rtnetlink: make SR-IOV VF interface symmetric") in 2010 and has never been able to describe an arbitrary number of VFs; nothing regressed, the encoding simply cannot represent it. Nothing catches it on the way. if_nlmsg_size() adds rtnl_vfinfo_size() for every VF, so the skb really is large enough and none of the nla_put() calls fails. Userspace then walks the message with RTA_NEXT(), which advances by the stored length, so parsing resumes inside VF payload and the attributes after the nest are read out of VF data: IFLA_VF_PORTS, IFLA_XDP, IFLA_LINKINFO, IFLA_PERM_ADDRESS, IFLA_AF_SPEC. iproute2 prints "!!!Deficit" and strictly validating parsers reject the message. On CONFIG_DEBUG_NET kernels nla_nest_end() also splats, via the DEBUG_NET_WARN_ON_ONCE() added in commit ff205bf8c554 ("netlink: add one debug check in nla_nest_end()"). Where the wrap falls depends on what was asked for and on the host. A VF costs 196 bytes, 296 with statistics, 236 with GUIDs and 336 with both, and on a kernel without CONFIG_HAVE_EFFICIENT_UNALIGNED_ACCESS the statistics carry a padding attribute each and cost 32 bytes more, making those two 328 and 368. The nest therefore overflows somewhere between 179 and 335 VFs, and ice allows 256 per PF (ICE_MAX_SRIOV_VFS), which reaches it. Statistics are included unless the request sets RTEXT_FILTER_SKIP_STATS, so the common case is the one that wraps first. A limit that moves with the requested attribute set and with the host's alignment requirements is not something userspace can be told, so use fixed numbers instead and document them as what the interface supports: 256 VFs, or 128 when statistics are included. Both stay well inside U16_MAX even in the largest per-VF encoding, at 60416 and 47104 bytes respectively. rtnl_vfinfo_cap() applies the cap in both places, so rtnl_vfinfo_size() does not size the skb for VFs that will not be emitted. A device with more VFs than the limit reports a shorter IFLA_VFINFO_LIST. IFLA_NUM_VF keeps carrying the real count, and everything after the nest stays parsable, which is the part that is broken today. An empty nest is already emitted for a PF with no VFs, so a list shorter than IFLA_NUM_VF is not a new encoding. Returning -EMSGSIZE instead, which is what nla_nest_end_safe() would give, is not an option here: a nest that does not fit in a u16 will not fit in a retried skb either, so it would turn a link dump on such a device into a hard failure. The other large nests in rtnl_fill_ifinfo() were audited and cannot overflow. IFLA_AF_SPEC is bounded by a handful of address families at about a kilobyte each, and IFLA_VF_PORTS would need more than 560 VFs, which no in-tree driver allows. 2026-07-20netlink: specs: rt-link: convert bridge port flag attributes to u8Danielle Ratson
A number of IFLA_BRPORT_* attributes are documented in the rt-link spec as having the "flag" type, i.e. a payload-less NLA_FLAG attribute whose meaning is presence-only. This does not match the kernel, which emits these attributes with nla_put_u8() and validates them as NLA_U8 in br_port_policy[]. The values are not mere presence flags but carry a u8 payload (0/1). Convert these bridge port attributes from "flag" to "u8" so the spec reflects the actual wire format. 2026-07-07devlink: Allow parent dev for rate-set and rate-newCosmin Ratiu
Currently, a devlink rate's parent device is assumed to be the same as the one where the devlink rate is created. This patch changes that to allow rate commands to accept an additional argument that specifies the parent dev. This will allow devlink rate groups with leafs from other devices. Example of the new usage with ynl: Creating a group on pci/0000:08:00.1 with a parent to an already existing pci/0000:08:00.1/group1: ./tools/net/ynl/pyynl/cli.py --spec \ Documentation/netlink/specs/devlink.yaml --do rate-new --json '{ "bus-name": "pci", "dev-name": "0000:08:00.1", "rate-node-name": "group2", "rate-parent-node-name": "group1", "parent-dev": { "bus-name": "pci", "dev-name": "0000:08:00.1" } }' Setting the parent of leaf node pci/0000:08:00.1/65537 to pci/0000:08:00.0/group1: ./tools/net/ynl/pyynl/cli.py --spec \ Documentation/netlink/specs/devlink.yaml --do rate-set --json '{ "bus-name": "pci", "dev-name": "0000:08:00.1", "port-index": 65537, "parent-dev": { "bus-name": "pci", "dev-name": "0000:08:00.0" }, "rate-parent-node-name": "group1" }' Signed-off-by: Cosmin Ratiu <cratiu@nvidia.com> Reviewed-by: Carolina Jubran <cjubran@nvidia.com> Reviewed-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Tariq Toukan <tariqt@nvidia.com> Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20260701073254.754518-7-tariqt@nvidia.com Signed-off-by: Paolo Abeni <pabeni@redhat.com>
2026-07-07devlink: Add parent dev to devlink APICosmin Ratiu
Upcoming changes to the rate commands need the parent devlink specified. This change adds a nested 'parent-dev' attribute to the API and helpers to obtain and put a reference to the parent devlink instance in info->ctx. To avoid deadlocks, the parent devlink is unlocked before obtaining the main devlink instance that is the target of the request. A reference to the parent is kept until the end of the request to avoid it suddenly disappearing. This means that this reference is of limited use without additional protection. Add DPLL_PIN_CAPABILITIES_STATE_CONNECTED_OVERRIDE capability flag that indicates a pin can be set to connected regardless of the current DPLL device mode, overriding the active input selection. This is useful for automatic-only DPLL devices where mode cannot be switched to manual, allowing userspace to directly connect such pin from automatic mode. 2026-07-03net: ipv4: report multicast group user countYuyang Huang
RTM_GETMULTICAST has been part of the rtnetlink ABI for a long time and already reports IPv4 multicast group membership through IFA_MULTICAST and IFA_CACHEINFO. It does not report how many consumers hold each membership, so userspace still has to parse /proc/net/igmp to get the Users column. Add IFA_MC_USERS as a u32 attribute carrying ip_mc_list::users in RTM_GETMULTICAST replies and entry-lifecycle notifications. This gives iproute2 enough information to migrate the IPv4 part of "ip maddr show" from procfs parsing to rtnetlink. Pull nfsd updates from Chuck Lever: "Jeff Layton wired up netlink upcalls for the auth.unix.ip and auth.unix.gid caches in SunRPC and the svc_export and nfsd.fh caches in NFSD. The new kernel-user API is more extensible and lays the groundwork for retiring the old pipe interface. The default NFS r/w block size rises to 4MB on hosts with at least 16GB of RAM, reducing per-RPC overhead on fast networks. Smaller machines keep their previously computed default, and the value remains tunable through /proc/fs/nfsd/max_block_size. Chuck Lever converted the server's RPCSEC GSS Kerberos code to the kernel's shared crypto/krb5 library. The conversion retires and removes SunRPC's bespoke implementation of Kerberos v5, but keeps RPCSEC GSS-API. Continuing the xdrgen migration that converted the NLMv4 server XDR layer in v7.1, Chuck Lever converted the NLM version 3 server-side XDR layer from hand-written C to xdrgen-generated code. As with the NLMv4 conversion in v7.1, the goals are improved memory safety, lower maintenance burden, and groundwork for generation of Rust code for this layer instead of C. Chuck Lever fixed an issue where lingering NFSv4 state pins a mounted file system after it is unexported. A new netlink-based mechanism can now release NLM locks and NFSv4 state by client address, by filesystem, and by export. Now an administrator can quiesce an export cleanly before unmounting it. The remaining patches are bug fixes, clean-ups, and minor optimizations, including a batch of memory-leak and use-after-free fixes in the ACL, lockd, and TLS handshake paths, many of them reported by Chris Mason. 2026-06-13devlink: Implement devlink param multi attribute nested data valuesSaeed Mahameed
Devlink param value attribute is not defined since devlink is handling the value validating and parsing internally, this allows us to implement multi attribute values without breaking any policies. Devlink param multi-attribute values are considered to be dynamically sized arrays of u64 values, by introducing a new devlink param type DEVLINK_PARAM_TYPE_U64_ARRAY, driver and user space can set a variable count of u64 values into the DEVLINK_ATTR_PARAM_VALUE_DATA attribute. Implement get/set parsing and add to the internal value structure passed to drivers. This is useful for devices that need to configure a list of values for a specific configuration. example: $ devlink dev param show pci/... name multi-value-param name multi-value-param type driver-specific values: cmode permanent value: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 $ devlink dev param set pci/... name multi-value-param \ value 4,5,6,7,0,1,2,3 cmode permanent Signed-off-by: Saeed Mahameed <saeedm@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Ratheesh Kannoth <rkannoth@marvell.com> Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20260609040453.711932-5-rkannoth@marvell.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2026-06-13dpll: add generic DPLL typeGrzegorz Nitka
Add DPLL_TYPE_GENERIC to represent DPLL devices which do not fit the existing PPS or EEC classes. The UAPI type is intentionally generic. During netdev discussion, maintainers pointed out that introducing identifiers tied to a specific placement or single design does not scale across ASICs and vendors. The role of a DPLL is already inferable from the spawning driver, bus device, and pin topology, without encoding additional purpose-specific taxonomy in the type name. Using a generic type keeps the UAPI extensible and avoids premature naming that may become incorrect as new hardware topologies are exposed through the DPLL subsystem. Expose the new type through UAPI and netlink specification as "generic". 2026-06-12psp: add new netlink cmd for dev-assoc and dev-disassocWei Wang
The main purpose of this cmd is to be able to associate a non-psp-capable device (e.g. veth or netkit) with a psp device. One use case is if we create a pair of veth/netkit, and assign 1 end inside a netns, while leaving the other end within the default netns, with a real PSP device, e.g. netdevsim or a physical PSP-capable NIC. With this command, we could associate the veth/netkit inside the netns with PSP device, so the virtual device could act as PSP-capable device to initiate PSP connections, and performs PSP encryption/decryption on the real PSP device. 2026-06-12handshake: Require admin permission for DONE commandChuck Lever
ACCEPT and DONE are the two downcalls of the handshake genl family, both intended for use by the trusted handshake agent (tlshd). ACCEPT already requires GENL_ADMIN_PERM; DONE has no privilege check at all. The fd-lookup in handshake_nl_done_doit() only confirms that some pending handshake request exists for the supplied sockfd; it does not authenticate the sender. An unprivileged process that guesses or observes a valid sockfd can therefore submit a DONE with HANDSHAKE_A_DONE_STATUS == 0, leaving the kernel consumer to proceed as if the handshake succeeded. A non-zero status on a forged DONE tears down a legitimate in-flight handshake before tlshd can report its real result. 2026-06-10bonding: 3ad: add lacp_strict configuration knobLouis Scalbert
When an 802.3ad (LACP) bonding interface has no slaves in the collecting/distributing state, the bonding master still reports carrier as up as long as at least 'min_links' slaves have carrier. In this situation, only one slave is effectively used for TX/RX, while traffic received on other slaves is dropped. Upper-layer daemons therefore consider the interface operational, even though traffic may be blackholed if the lack of LACP negotiation means the partner is not ready to deal with traffic. Introduce a configuration knob to control this behavior. It allows the bonding master to assert carrier only when at least 'min_links' slaves are in Collecting_Distributing state. The default mode preserves the existing behavior. This patch only introduces the knob; its behavior is implemented in the subsequent commit. 2026-06-09NFSD: Add NFSD_CMD_UNLOCK_EXPORT netlink commandChuck Lever
When a filesystem is exported to NFS clients, NFSv4 state (opens, locks, delegations, layouts) holds references that prevent the underlying filesystem from being unmounted. NFSD_CMD_UNLOCK_FILESYSTEM addresses this at superblock granularity, but administrators unexporting a single path on a shared filesystem (e.g., one of several exports on the same device) need finer control. Add NFSD_CMD_UNLOCK_EXPORT, which revokes NFSv4 state acquired through exports of a specific path. Matching is by path identity (dentry + vfsmount) via the sc_export field on each nfs4_stid, so multiple svc_export objects for the same path -- one per auth_domain -- are handled correctly without requiring the caller to name a specific client. The command takes a single "path" attribute. Userspace (exportfs -u) sends this after removing the last client for a given path, enabling the underlying filesystem to be unmounted. When multiple clients share an export path, individual unexports do not trigger state revocation; only the final one does. 2026-06-09NFSD: Add NFSD_CMD_UNLOCK_FILESYSTEM netlink commandChuck Lever
Add NFSD_CMD_UNLOCK_FILESYSTEM as a dedicated netlink command for revoking NFS state under a filesystem path, providing a netlink equivalent of /proc/fs/nfsd/unlock_fs. The command requires a "path" string attribute containing the filesystem path whose state should be released. The handler resolves the path to its superblock, then cancels async copies, releases NLM locks, and revokes NFSv4 state on that superblock. 2026-06-09NFSD: Add NFSD_CMD_UNLOCK_IP netlink commandChuck Lever
The existing write_unlock_ip procfs interface releases NLM file locks held by a specific client IP address, but procfs provides no structured way to extend that operation to other scopes such as revoking NFSv4 state. Add NFSD_CMD_UNLOCK_IP as a dedicated netlink command for releasing NLM locks by client address. The command accepts a binary sockaddr_in or sockaddr_in6 in its address attribute. The handler validates the address family and length, then calls nlmsvc_unlock_all_by_ip() to release matching NLM locks. Because lockd is a single global instance, that call operates across all network namespaces regardless of which namespace the caller inhabits. A separate netlink command for filesystem-scoped unlock is added in a subsequent commit. The nfsd_ctl_unlock_ip tracepoint is updated from string-based address logging to __sockaddr, which stores the binary sockaddr and formats it with %pISpc. This affects both the new netlink path and the existing procfs write_unlock_ip path, giving consistent structured output in both cases. 2026-06-03geneve: Introduce IFLA_GENEVE_LOCAL and IFLA_GENEVE_LOCAL6.Kuniyuki Iwashima
By default, a GENEVE device bind()s its underlying UDP socket(s) to the IPv4 or IPv6 wildcard address because there is no way to specify a specific local IP address to bind() to. This prevents deploying multiple GENEVE devices on a multi-homed host where each device should be isolated and bound to a different local IP address on the same UDP port. Let's introduce new options, IFLA_GENEVE_LOCAL and IFLA_GENEVE_LOCAL6, to allow specifying a local IPv4/IPv6 address for the backend UDP socket. By default, when collect metadata mode (IFLA_GENEVE_COLLECT_METADATA) is enabled, both IPv4 and IPv6 sockets are created. However, if a source address is specified via the new attributes, only a single socket corresponding to that specific address family is created. Accordingly, geneve_find_sock() and geneve_find_dev() are updated to take the source address into account, ensuring that multiple devices and sockets configured with different source addresses can coexist without conflict. In addition, the source address is validated in geneve_xmit_skb() and geneve6_xmit_skb(), so the BPF prog must set it in bpf_tunnel_key. With this change, multiple GENEVE devices can be successfully created and bound to their respective local IP addresses: (*) "local" is the keyword for IFLA_GENEVE_LOCAL / IFLA_GENEVE_LOCAL6 # for i in $(seq 1 2); do ip link add geneve4_${i} type geneve local 192.168.0.${i} external ip addr add 192.168.0.${i}/24 dev geneve4_${i} ip link set geneve4_${i} up ip link add geneve6_${i} type geneve local 2001:9292::${i} external ip addr add 2001:9292::${i}/64 dev geneve6_${i} nodad ip link set geneve6_${i} up done # ip -d l | grep geneve 9: geneve4_1: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> ... geneve external id 0 local 192.168.0.1 ... 10: geneve6_1: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> ... geneve external id 0 local 2001:9292::1 ... 11: geneve4_2: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> ... geneve external id 0 local 192.168.0.2 ... 12: geneve6_2: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> ... geneve external id 0 local 2001:9292::2 ... # ss -ua | grep geneve UNCONN 0 0 192.168.0.2:geneve 0.0.0.0:* UNCONN 0 0 192.168.0.1:geneve 0.0.0.0:* UNCONN 0 0 [2001:9292::2]:geneve *:* UNCONN 0 0 [2001:9292::1]:geneve *:* Note that even if the local address is explicitly configured with the wildcard address, kernel does not dump it except for devices with IFLA_GENEVE_COLLECT_METADATA. 2026-06-01NFSD: Put cache get-reqs dump attrs under replyChuck Lever
The new get-reqs dump operations added to sunrpc_cache.yaml and nfsd.yaml place the "requests" nested attribute under dump.request. A netlink dump carries an empty request; its payload travels back in the reply. Because the spec names no reply attributes, the YNL C code generator synthesizes a forward reference to a <op>_rsp struct that is never defined, breaking any consumer of these specs. This first surfaced when Thorsten Leemhuis built tools/net/ynl against -next: nfsd-user.h:746: error: field 'obj' has incomplete type struct nfsd_svc_export_get_reqs_rsp obj ... nfsd-user.h:826: error: field 'obj' has incomplete type struct nfsd_expkey_get_reqs_rsp obj ... nfsd-user.c:1211: error: 'nfsd_svc_export_get_reqs_rsp_parse' undeclared sunrpc_cache.yaml has the same defect in ip-map-get-reqs and unix-gid-get-reqs, but nfsd.yaml errors out first in the Makefile's alphabetical build order and hides the sunrpc failures. 2026-06-01sunrpc: add a generic netlink family for cache upcallsJeff Layton
The auth.unix.ip and auth.unix.gid caches live in the sunrpc module, so they cannot use the nfsd generic netlink family. Create a new "sunrpc" generic netlink family with its own "exportd" multicast group to support cache upcall notifications for sunrpc-resident caches. Define a YAML spec (sunrpc_cache.yaml) with a cache-type enum (ip_map, unix_gid), a cache-notify multicast event, and the corresponding uapi header. Implement sunrpc_cache_notify() in cache.c, which checks for listeners on the exportd multicast group, builds and sends a SUNRPC_CMD_CACHE_NOTIFY message with the cache-type attribute. Register/unregister the sunrpc_nl_family in init_sunrpc() and cleanup_sunrpc(). Signed-off-by: Jeff Layton <jlayton@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Chuck Lever <chuck.lever@oracle.com>

2026-05-28net/handshake: Pass negative errno through handshake_complete()Chuck Lever
handshake_complete() declares status as unsigned int and tls_handshake_done() negates that value (-status) before handing it to the TLS consumer. Consumers match on negative errno constants -- xs_tls_handshake_done() has switch (status) { case 0: case -EACCES: case -ETIMEDOUT: lower_transport->xprt_err = status; break; default: lower_transport->xprt_err = -EACCES; } so the API as designed expects callers to pass positive errno values that the tlshd shim then negates. Three internal callers in handshake_nl_accept_doit(), the net-exit drain, and a kunit test follow kernel convention and pass negative errnos -- -EIO, -ETIMEDOUT, -ETIMEDOUT. The implicit conversion to unsigned int turns -ETIMEDOUT into 0xFFFFFF92; the subsequent -status in tls_handshake_done() wraps back to 110, the consumer's switch falls through, and the xprt reports -EACCES on what should be -ETIMEDOUT or -EIO. Fix the API rather than the call sites. The natural kernel convention is negative errno in, negative errno out. Change handshake_complete() and hp_done to take int status, drop the negation in tls_handshake_done(), and negate once in handshake_nl_done_doit() where status arrives from the wire as an unsigned netlink attribute. The three internal callers were already correct under that convention and need no change. At the same wire boundary, declare MAX_ERRNO as the netlink policy upper bound for HANDSHAKE_A_DONE_STATUS. Attribute validation rejects out-of-range values before handshake_nl_done_doit() runs, and negating a bounded u32 there stays within int range -- closing the UBSAN-visible signed- integer overflow that an unconstrained u32 would invoke. 2026-05-26netlink: specs: add OVS packet family specificationMinxi Hou
Add YAML netlink spec for the OVS_PACKET_FAMILY (ovs_packet). This completes the set of OVS genetlink family specs (ovs_datapath, ovs_flow, ovs_vport already exist). The spec defines three operations: MISS (event), ACTION (event), and EXECUTE (do). MISS and ACTION are kernel-to-userspace upcalls sent via genlmsg_unicast(); EXECUTE is the only registered genl operation. Key, actions, and egress-tun-key attributes are typed as binary rather than nest because the nested attribute definitions belong to the ovs_flow spec and cross-spec references are not supported by the YNL framework. 2026-05-14bridge: uapi: Add neigh_forward_grat netlink attributesDanielle Ratson
Add netlink attributes for controlling gratuitous ARP and unsolicited NA forwarding when neighbor suppression is enabled. Add IFLA_BRPORT_NEIGH_FORWARD_GRAT for port-level control and BRIDGE_VLANDB_ENTRY_NEIGH_FORWARD_GRAT for per-VLAN control. The new attributes provide independent control of gratuitous ARP and unsolicited NA packets. Operators can enable forwarding for those packets for fast mobility across VTEPs while keeping general neighbor suppression active. 2026-05-12dpll: add fractional frequency offset to pin-parent-deviceIvan Vecera
Add both fractional-frequency-offset (PPM) and fractional-frequency-offset-ppt (PPT) attributes to the pin-parent-device nested attribute set, alongside the existing top-level pin attributes. Both carry the same measurement at different precisions. Introduce enum dpll_ffo_type and struct dpll_ffo_param to distinguish FFO contexts: DPLL_FFO_PORT_RXTX_RATE for the RX vs TX symbol rate offset reported at the top level, and DPLL_FFO_PIN_DEVICE for the pin vs parent DPLL offset reported in the pin-parent-device nest. Add a supported_ffo bitmask to struct dpll_pin_ops so drivers declare which FFO types they support. The core only calls ffo_get for types the driver has opted into, eliminating the need for per-driver NULL pointer guards. Validate at pin registration time that supported_ffo is not set without an ffo_get callback. Update mlx5 (DPLL_FFO_PORT_RXTX_RATE) and zl3073x (DPLL_FFO_PORT_RXTX_RATE) drivers to use the new API. Add documentation for both FFO types to dpll.rst. Changes v3 -> v4: - Replace dpll=NULL overloading with enum dpll_ffo_type and struct dpll_ffo_param (Jakub Kicinski) - Add supported_ffo opt-in bitmask in dpll_pin_ops for fail-close driver validation (Jakub Kicinski) - Add WARN_ON in dpll_pin_register for supported_ffo without ffo_get callback Reviewed-by: Jiri Pirko <jiri@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Ivan Vecera <ivecera@redhat.com> Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20260511155816.99936-2-ivecera@redhat.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
