Pull x86 mm updates from Dave Hansen:
"There are two things in here of note. First, there are fixes to reduce
the time that the TLB flushing code sits around with interrupts
disabled. It should be well tested, but it's certainly something to
keep an eye on.
Second is a little back-and-forth in the interactions between the
set_memory*() locking and DEBUG_PAGEALLOC. There was a slightly
painful re-discovery of why DEBUG_PAGEALLOC has special locking rules,
but the code did end up better for it.
Summary:
- Fix pkey_alloc() return value when pkeys are not supported
- Allow preemption during IPI completion waiting to improve wakeup
latency
- Convert more x86 page table code to ptdescs

queued_spin_lock_slowpath() and queued_spin_unlock() are dispatched
through pv_ops_lock via the paravirt-ops ALTERNATIVE machinery, which
picks the target (native inline store / hypervisor call) once at boot
and cannot change at runtime.
Convert both to static_call(). The site becomes a direct call patched in
place (one byte smaller), and on native the unlock still collapses to
the inline "movb $0, (%rdi)" store, so the fast path is unchanged.
Unlike the ALTERNATIVE mechanism, a static_call() target can also be
updated at runtime via static_call_update(). This is a prerequisite for
the contended_release tracepoint, which has to swap in a traced unlock
while the system is running.

__static_call_validate() about the inline unlock insn; make the
slowpath site module-safe: static_call_mod() +

On x86 CONFIG_XEN_PVHVM is now a synonym of CONFIG_XEN.
In Xen specific x86 code it can be just dropped, in non-Xen specific
x86 code it can be replaced with CONFIG_XEN.
In architecture independent code it is used only where CONFIG_XEN is
defined, so it can be replaced with CONFIG_X86 there.

As documented in comments in struct xen_memory_exchange, the input to the
hypercall is a set of MFNs which are to be removed from the domain, plus a
set of PFNs where the newly allocated MFNs are to appear. Present comment
and parameter naming don't correctly reflect that.

Pull interrupt core updates from Thomas Gleixner:
- Rework of /proc/interrupt handling:
/proc/interrupts was subject to micro optimizations for a long time,
but most of the low hanging fruit was left on the table. This rework
addresses the major time consuming issues:
- Printing a long series of zeros one by one via a format string
instead of counting subsequent zeros and emitting a string
constant.
- Simplify and cache the conditions whether interrupts should be
printed
- Use a proper iteration over the interrupt descriptor xarray
instead of walking and testing one by one.
- Provide helper functions for the architecture code to emit the
architecture specific counters
- Convert the counter structure in x86 to an array, which
simplifies the output and add mechanisms to suppress unused
architecture interrupts, which just occupy space for nothing.
Adopt the new core mechanisms.
This adjusts the gdb scripts related to interrupt counter statistics
to work with the new mechanisms.
- Prevent a string overflow in the /proc/irq/$N/ directory name
creation code.

Now that lazy mmu state tracking no longer relies on the Xen specific
one, cpu lazy mode is the only user of the Xen generic lazy tracking.

There are only very few use cases of XEN_LAZY_MMU left. Get rid of
them in order to avoid having to call enter_lazy(XEN_LAZY_MMU) and
leave_lazy(XEN_LAZY_MMU).
The query in xen_batched_set_pte() can be replaced by using
is_lazy_mmu_mode_active() instead.
As xen_flush_lazy_mmu() will be called only with lazy MMU mode being
active, the test for the lazy mode can just be dropped.
In xen_start_context_switch() and xen_end_context_switch() use
__task_lazy_mmu_mode_pause() and __task_lazy_mmu_mode_resume(),
allowing to drop xen_enter_lazy_mmu() and xen_leave_lazy_mmu()
completely.
Call arch_flush_lazy_mmu_mode() from arch_leave_lazy_mmu_mode(), as
this is the only required action now.
Drop the lazy mmu enter and leave paravirt hooks, leaving the flush
hook as the only needed one.

Today xen_mc_issue() is deciding whether to call xen_mc_flush() or not
based on the lazy mode input parameter passed.
Modify this interface to pass a boolean indicating whether the flush
should be done.
For querying lazy mmu mode use the is_lazy_mmu_mode_active() helper.
This is done in preparation for dropping the xen_lazy_mode percpu
variable.

The only Xen file in debugfs is for dumping the p2m table when running
as a Xen PV guest. This might have been useful when the PV code was
young, but there haven't been any p2m related bugs requiring the p2m
dump since ages.
Remove the code and the related config option.

A lot of arch/x86/xen/xen-ops.h is meant to be for PV only. Guard all
of it with CONFIG_XEN_PV in order to avoid someone misusing it in
non-PV builds. Additionally any 64-bit tests for now guarded items can
be dropped.
Move the enum pt_level definition to mmu_pv.c, as it is used only there.

Having the x86 specific interrupt statistics as a data structure with
individual members instead of an array is just stupid as it requires
endless copy and paste in arch_show_interrupts() and arch_irq_stat_cpu(),
where the latter does not even take the latest interrupt additions into
account. The resulting #ifdef orgy is just disgusting.
Convert it to an array of counters, which does not make a difference in the
actual interrupt hotpath increment as the array index is constant and
therefore not any different than the member based access.
But in arch_show_interrupts() and arch_irq_stat_cpu() this just turns into
a loop, which reduces the text size by ~2k (~12%):

Adding a new vector or software counter only requires to update the table
and everything just works. Using the core provided emit function which

With the support of nested lazy mmu sections it can happen that
arch_enter_lazy_mmu_mode() is being called twice without a call of
arch_leave_lazy_mmu_mode() in between, as the lazy_mmu_*() helpers
are not disabling preemption when checking for nested lazy mmu
sections.
This is a problem when running as a Xen PV guest, as
xen_enter_lazy_mmu() and xen_leave_lazy_mmu() don't tolerate this
case.
Fix that in xen_enter_lazy_mmu() and xen_leave_lazy_mmu() in order
not to hurt all other lazy mmu mode users.

When swapping a not page-aligned E820 map entry with RAM, the start
address of the modified entry is calculated wrong (the offset into the
page is subtracted instead of being added to the page address).

Introduce a CPUID parser for populating the system's CPUID tables.
Since accessing a leaf within the CPUID table requires compile time
tokenization, split the parser into two stages:
(a) Compile-time macros for tokenizing the leaf/subleaf offsets within
the CPUID table.
(b) Generic runtime code to fill the CPUID data, using a parsing table
which collects these compile-time offsets.
For actual CPUID output parsing, support both generic and leaf-specific
read functions.
To ensure CPUID data early availability, invoke the parser during early
boot, early Xen boot, and at early secondary CPUs bring up.
Provide call site APIs to refresh a single leaf, or a leaf range, within
the CPUID tables. This is for sites issuing MSR writes that partially
change the CPU's CPUID layout. Doing full CPUID table rescans in such
cases will be destructive since the CPUID tables will host all of the
kernel's X86_FEATURE flags at a later stage.

Modify all CPUID call sites which implicitly include any of the CPUID
headers to explicitly include them instead.
For KVM's reverse_cpuid.h, just include <asm/cpuid/types.h> since it
references the CPUID_EAX..EDX symbols without using the CPUID APIs.
Note, this allows removing the inclusion of <asm/cpuid/api.h> from within
<asm/processor.h> next. That allows the CPUID API headers to include
<asm/processor.h> without introducing a circular dependency.

When fixing a conflict in xen_e820_resolve_conflicts(), the loop over
the E820 map entries needs to be restarted, as the E820 map will have
been modified by the fix. Otherwise entries might be skipped by
accident.

As a step towards unifying the interface for retrieving ACPI CPU UID
across architectures, introduce a new function acpi_get_cpu_uid() for
x86. While at it, add input validation to make the code more robust.
Update Xen-related code to use acpi_get_cpu_uid() instead of the legacy
cpu_acpi_id() function, and remove the now-unused cpu_acpi_id() to clean
up redundant code.

The io_delay() paravirt hook is in no way performance critical and all users
setting it to a different function than native_io_delay() are using an empty
function as replacement.
Allow replacing the hook with a bool indicating whether native_io_delay()
should be called.

After commit 47ffe0578aee ("x86/pvh: Add 64bit relocation page tables"),
the PVH entry uses a new set of page tables instead of the
preconstructed page tables in head64.S. Since those preconstructed page
tables are only used in XENPV now and XENPV does not actually need the
preconstructed identity page tables directly, they can be filled in
xen_setup_kernel_pagetable(). Therefore, build the identity mapping page
table dynamically to remove the preconstructed page tables and make the
code cleaner.

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

A recent patch moving the call of sparse_init() to common mm code
broke booting as a Xen PV guest.
Reason is that the Xen PV specific boot code relied on struct page area
being accessible rather early, but this changed by the move of the call
of sparse_init().
Fortunately the fix is rather easy: there is a static branch available
indicating whether struct page contents are usable by Xen. This static
branch just needs to be tested in some places for avoiding the access
of struct page.

This partially reverts commit 87af633689ce16ddb166c80f32b120e50b1295de so
the current memory target for PV guests is still fetched from
start_info->nr_pages, which matches exactly what the toolstack sets the
initial memory target to.
Using get_num_physpages() is possible on PV also, but needs adjusting to
take into account the ISA hole and the PFN at 0 not considered usable
memory despite being populated, and hence would need extra adjustments.
Instead of carrying those extra adjustments switch back to the previous
code. That leaves Linux with a difference in how current memory target is
obtained for HVM vs PV, but that's better than adding extra logic just for
PV.
However if switching to start_info->nr_pages for PV domains we need to
differentiate between released pages (freed back to the hypervisor) as
opposed to pages in the physmap which are not populated to start with.
Introduce a new xen_unpopulated_pages to account for papges that have
never been populated, and hence in the PV case don't need subtracting.

We currently set a TIF flag when scheduling out a task that is in lazy MMU
mode, in order to restore it when the task is scheduled again.
The generic lazy_mmu layer now tracks whether a task is in lazy MMU mode
in task_struct::lazy_mmu_state. We can therefore check that state when
switching to the new task, instead of using a separate TIF flag.

arch_flush_lazy_mmu_mode() is called when outstanding batched pgtable
operations must be completed immediately. There should however be no need
to leave and re-enter lazy MMU completely. The only part of that sequence
that we really need is xen_mc_flush(); call it directly.

In most cases, the use of "fast 32-bit system call" depends either on
X86_FEATURE_SEP or X86_FEATURE_SYSENTER32 || X86_FEATURE_SYSCALL32.
However, nearly all the logic for both is identical.
Define X86_FEATURE_SYSFAST32 which indicates that *either* SYSENTER32 or
SYSCALL32 should be used, for either 32- or 64-bit kernels. This
defaults to SYSENTER; use SYSCALL if the SYSCALL32 bit is also set.
As this removes ALL existing uses of X86_FEATURE_SYSENTER32, which is
a kernel-only synthetic feature bit, simply remove it and replace it
with X86_FEATURE_SYSFAST32.
This leaves an unused alternative for a true 32-bit kernel, but that
should really not matter in any way.
The clearing of X86_FEATURE_SYSCALL32 can be removed once the patches
for automatically clearing disabled features has been merged.

Instead of having a pre-filled array xen_mmu_ops for Xen PV paravirt
functions, drop the array and assign each element individually.
This is in preparation of reducing the paravirt include hell by
splitting paravirt.h into multiple more fine grained header files,
which will in turn require to split up the pv_ops vector as well.
Dropping the pre-filled array makes life easier for objtool to
detect missing initializers in multiple pv_ops_ arrays.

This is in preparation of reducing the paravirt include hell by
splitting paravirt.h into multiple more fine grained header files,
which will in turn require to split up the pv_ops vector as well.
Dropping the pre-filled array makes life easier for objtool to
detect missing initializers in multiple pv_ops_ arrays.

from paravirt.c and paravirt.h to tsc.c.

Remove the arch-specific variant of paravirt_steal_clock() and use
the common one instead.
With all archs supporting Xen now having been switched to the common
variant, including paravirt.h can be dropped from drivers/xen/time.c.

The sparse tool issues a warning for arch/x76/xen/enlighten_pv.c:
arch/x86/xen/enlighten_pv.c:120:9: sparse: sparse: incorrect type
in initializer (different address spaces)
expected void const [noderef] __percpu *__vpp_verify
got bool *
This is due to the percpu variable xen_in_preemptible_hcall being
exported via EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL() instead of EXPORT_PER_CPU_SYMBOL_GPL().

The config XEN_SAVE_RESTORE's only purpose is to select
HIBERNATE_CALLBACKS, when config XEN is set. The XEN config definition can
simply select HIBERNATE_CALLBACKS, though, and the definition of
XEN_SAVE_RESTORE can be dropped.
So, remove this indirection through XEN_SAVE_RESTORE and select
HIBERNATE_CALLBACKS directly. Also, drop the XEN_SAVE_RESTORE from the x86
xen config fragment.
No functional change intended with this clean-up.
