| 2026-03-19 | HID: input: Introduce struct hid_battery and refactor battery code | Lucas Zampieri | |
| Introduce struct hid_battery to encapsulate individual battery state, preparing for future multi-battery support. The new structure contains all battery-related fields previously stored directly in hid_device (capacity, min, max, report_type, report_id, charge_status, etc.). The hid_device->battery pointer type changes from struct power_supply* to struct hid_battery*, and all battery functions are refactored accordingly. A hid_get_battery() helper is added for external drivers, with hid-apple.c and hid-magicmouse.c updated to use the new API. The hid-input-test.c KUnit tests are also updated for the new structure. No functional changes for single-battery devices. Signed-off-by: Lucas Zampieri <lcasmz54@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Benjamin Tissoires <bentiss@kernel.org> | |||
| 2025-08-20 | HID: input: rename hidinput_set_battery_charge_status() | José Expósito | |
| In preparation for a patch fixing a bug affecting hidinput_set_battery_charge_status(), rename the function to hidinput_update_battery_charge_status() and move it up so it can be used by hidinput_update_battery(). Refactor, no functional changes. Tested-by: 卢国宏 <luguohong@xiaomi.com> Signed-off-by: José Expósito <jose.exposito89@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Jiri Kosina <jkosina@suse.com> | |||
| 2022-12-20 | HID: input: map battery system charging | José Expósito | |
| HID descriptors with Battery System (0x85) Charging (0x44) usage are ignored and POWER_SUPPLY_STATUS_DISCHARGING is always reported to user space, even when the device is charging. Map this usage and when it is reported set the right charging status. In addition, add KUnit tests to make sure that the charging status is correctly set and reported. They can be run with the usual command: $ ./tools/testing/kunit/kunit.py run --kunitconfig=drivers/hid Signed-off-by: José Expósito <jose.exposito89@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Jiri Kosina <jkosina@suse.cz> | |||
