Report whether an AMD convertible is in laptop or tablet mode using the
operating-mode sensor provided by the Sensor Fusion Hub, and expose it
to userspace as SW_TABLET_MODE, so userspace can react to the device
being folded into tablet posture.

gpio: legacy interface cleanups for 7.3
These are the remaining patches for legacy gpio interface
cleanup, ensuring that files referencing them are sure to
have CONFIG_GPIOLIB_LEGACY set, and use linux/gpio/legacy.h
instead of the old linux/gpio.h header.
There are a few more patches already merged in other
branches for 7.3, including soc, led, net and media. Once
everything is in, we can apply the final patches to turn
off CONFIG_GPIOLIB_LEGACY by default and remove the obsolete
header file.
This branch is based on the immutable ib-mfd-legacy-gpio-7.3
branch from mfd.git to avoid a conflict in the rohm drivers.

cs40l50_add() copies the custom data of an FF_PERIODIC/FF_CUSTOM effect
straight from the ff_effect the user passed to EVIOCSFF, without
requiring it to hold anything:

work_data.custom_len = periodic->custom_len;
The driver then reads two words out of that buffer: custom_data[0] as the
waveform bank in cs40l50_effect_bank_set(), and custom_data[1] as the
index within the bank in cs40l50_effect_index_set(). Neither read is
covered by a length check, and custom_len is fully user controlled:
- custom_len == 0 makes memdup_array_user() call memdup_user() with a
length of zero, which returns ZERO_SIZE_PTR rather than an error, so
custom_data[0] dereferences it.
- custom_len == 1 allocates two bytes. A bank of ROM or RAM keeps
effect->type out of the OWT case, and custom_data[1] is then read one
word past the allocation.
The bank value itself is also mishandled. It is masked with
CS40L50_CUSTOM_DATA_MASK (0xffff) but stored in an s16, so a
custom_data[0] of 0x8000 or above wraps to a negative value that passes
the "bank_type >= CS40L50_WVFRM_BANK_NUM" test.
cs40l50_effect_index_set() indexes vib->dsp.banks[] with it before the
switch statement's default case gets a chance to reject it:
base_index = vib->dsp.banks[effect->type].base_index;
max_index = vib->dsp.banks[effect->type].max_index;
Require the two words the driver reads to be present, and hold the masked
bank in a u32 so the existing upper-bound test covers the whole range.
The da7280 haptic driver already range checks custom_len this way.

This driver converts information from ACPI in x86 based tablets and
laptops into platform_data for the gpio_keys driver, using the obsolete
gpio number based interfaces.
This should really be converted to some other method, but since the
conversion is nontrivial, have this one select GPIOLIB_LEGACY for the
time being.
This enables turning GPIOLIB_LEGACY off by default on most kernel
builds. Since the driver is only used on x86 portables, add a CONFIG_X86
dependency, which means non-x86 allmodconfig builds usuallly build
without the legacy gpio support.

The driver has a match table for the usb bus wired into its driver
structure, but the table is not exported with MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE().
Add the missing MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() entry so module alias information
is generated for automatic module loading.

The ISA1200 is a haptic feedback unit from Imagis Technology using two
motors for haptic feedback in mobile phones. Used in many mobile devices
c. 2012 including Samsung Galxy S Advance GT-I9070 (Janice), Samsung Beam
GT-I8350 (Gavini), LG Optimus 4X P880 and LG Optimus Vu P895.
The exact datasheet for the ISA1200 is not available; all data was modeled
based on available downstream kernel sources for various devices and
fragments of information scattered across the internet.

The driver parses CDC union descriptors in ims_pcu_get_cdc_union_desc()
by iterating through the extra descriptor data. However, it does not
verify that the bLength of each descriptor is at least 2. A malicious
device could provide a descriptor with bLength = 0, leading to an
infinite loop in the driver.
Add a check to ensure bLength is at least 2 before proceeding with
parsing.

The driver processes response data from device buffers without verifying
that the device actually sent enough data. This can lead to
out-of-bounds reads or processing stale data.
Add checks for the expected response length before accessing the
buffers.

In ims_pcu_line_setup(), the driver uses pcu->cmd_buf as a transfer
buffer for usb_control_msg(). However, pcu->cmd_buf is embedded in the
struct ims_pcu allocation, which violates DMA mapping rules regarding
cacheline alignment.
Use a heap-allocated buffer for the line coding data instead.

The debug logging in ims_pcu_irq() unconditionally prints data from
pcu->urb_in_buf. However, if the interrupt fired for pcu->urb_ctrl, the
actual data resides in pcu->urb_ctrl_buf. If urb->actual_length for the
control URB exceeds pcu->max_in_size, this leads to an out-of-bounds
read.
Fix this by printing from the correct buffer associated with the URB.

The driver currently assumes that the first endpoint of the control
interface is an interrupt IN endpoint without verifying it. A malicious
device could provide a different endpoint type, which would then be
passed to usb_fill_int_urb(), potentially leading to kernel warnings
or undefined behavior.
Verify that the control endpoint is an interrupt IN endpoint.

The ims_pcu_reset_device() sysfs callback calls ims_pcu_execute_command()
without acquiring pcu->cmd_mutex. This can lead to data races and
corruption of the shared command buffer if triggered concurrently with
other commands.
Acquire pcu->cmd_mutex before calling ims_pcu_execute_command().

The driver currently trusts the bMasterInterface0 from the CDC union
descriptor without verifying that it matches the interface being
probed. This could lead to the driver overwriting the private data of
another interface.
Validate that the control interface found in the descriptor is indeed
the one we are probing.

ims_pcu_disconnect() only intended to perform cleanup when the primary
(control) interface is unbound. However, it currently relies on the
interface class to distinguish between control and data interfaces.
A malicious device could present a data interface with the same class
as the control interface, leading to premature cleanup and potential
use-after-free or double-free.
Switch to verifying that the interface being disconnected is indeed
the control interface.

ims_pcu_reset_packet() incorrectly sets have_stx to true, which implies
that the start-of-packet delimiter has already been received. This
causes the protocol parser to skip waiting for the next STX byte and
potentially process garbage data.
Correctly set have_stx to false when resetting the packet state.

When the driver was converted to use the driver core to instantiate device
attributes (via .dev_groups in the usb_driver structure), the attributes
started appearing on all interfaces bound to the driver. Since the ims-pcu
driver manually claims the secondary data interface during probe, the
driver core automatically creates the sysfs attributes for that interface
as well.
However, the driver only supports these attributes on the primary control
interface. Data interfaces lack the necessary descriptors and internal
state to handle these requests, and accessing them can lead to unexpected
behavior or crashes.
Fix this by updating the is_visible() callbacks for both the main and OFN
attribute groups to verify that the interface being accessed is indeed the
control interface.

While being less compact, using named initializers allows to more easily
see which members of the structs are assigned which value without having
to lookup the declaration of the struct. And it's also more robust
against changes to the struct definition.
The mentioned robustness is relevant for a planned change to struct
i2c_device_id that replaces .driver_data by an anonymous union.
This patch doesn't modify the compiled arrays, only their representation
in source form benefits. The former was confirmed with x86 and arm64
builds.

The input buffer size is pcu->max_in_size, but pcu->max_out_size is
passed to usb_free_coherent().
Change size to match the allocation size.

Every platform driver can be forced to match a device that doesn't match
its list of device IDs because of device_match_driver_override(), so
platform drivers that rely on the existence of a device's ACPI companion
object need to verify its presence.
Accordingly, add a requisite ACPI_COMPANION() check against NULL to the
atlas_btns driver.

Convert the Mikrotik RouterBoard RB532 to use GPIO descriptors
by defining a software node for the GPIO chip, then register
the button platform device with full info passing the GPIO
as a device property.
This can be used as a base to move more of the RB532 devices
over to passing GPIOs using device properties.
Use the GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW flag and drop the inversion in the
rb532_button_pressed() function.

The `ims_pcu_process_data()` processes incoming URB data byte by byte.
However, it fails to check if the `read_pos` index exceeds
IMS_PCU_BUF_SIZE.
If a malicious USB device sends a packet larger than IMS_PCU_BUF_SIZE,
`read_pos` will increment indefinitely. Moreover, since `read_pos` is
located immediately after `read_buf`, the attacker can overwrite
`read_pos` itself to arbitrarily control the index.
This manipulated `read_pos` is subsequently used in
`ims_pcu_handle_response()` to copy data into `cmd_buf`, leading to a
heap buffer overflow.
Specifically, an attacker can overwrite the `cmd_done.wait.head` located
at offset 136 relative to `cmd_buf` in the `ims_pcu_handle_response()`.
Consequently, when the driver calls `complete(&pcu->cmd_done)`, it
triggers a control flow hijack by using the manipulated pointer.
Fix this by adding a bounds check for `read_pos` before writing to
`read_buf`. If the packet is too long, discard it, log a warning,
and reset the parser state.

A lockdep circular locking dependency warning can be triggered
reproducibly when using a force-feedback gamepad with uinput (for
example, playing ELDEN RING under Wine with a Flydigi Vader 5
controller):
ff->mutex -> udev->mutex -> input_mutex -> dev->mutex -> ff->mutex
The cycle is caused by four lock acquisition paths:
1. ff upload: input_ff_upload() holds ff->mutex and calls
uinput_dev_upload_effect() -> uinput_request_submit() ->
uinput_request_send(), which acquires udev->mutex.
2. device create: uinput_ioctl_handler() holds udev->mutex and calls
uinput_create_device() -> input_register_device(), which acquires
input_mutex.
3. device register: input_register_device() holds input_mutex and
calls kbd_connect() -> input_register_handle(), which acquires
dev->mutex.
4. evdev release: evdev_release() calls input_flush_device() under
dev->mutex, which calls input_ff_flush() acquiring ff->mutex.
Fix this by introducing a new state_lock spinlock to protect
udev->state and udev->dev access in uinput_request_send() instead of
acquiring udev->mutex. The function only needs to atomically check
device state and queue an input event into the ring buffer via
uinput_dev_event() -- both operations are safe under a spinlock
(ktime_get_ts64() and wake_up_interruptible() do not sleep). This
breaks the ff->mutex -> udev->mutex link since a spinlock is a leaf in
the lock ordering and cannot form cycles with mutexes.
To keep state transitions visible to uinput_request_send(), protect
writes to udev->state in uinput_create_device() and
uinput_destroy_device() with the same state_lock spinlock.
Additionally, move init_completion(&request->done) from
uinput_request_send() to uinput_request_submit() before
uinput_request_reserve_slot(). Once the slot is allocated,
uinput_flush_requests() may call complete() on it at any time from
the destroy path, so the completion must be initialised before the
request becomes visible.
Lock ordering after the fix:
ff->mutex -> state_lock (spinlock, leaf)
udev->mutex -> state_lock (spinlock, leaf)
udev->mutex -> input_mutex -> dev->mutex -> ff->mutex (no back-edge)

Add support for the I2C-connected Awinic AW86938 LRA haptic controller.
The AW86938 has a similar but slightly different register layout. In
particular, the boost mode register values.
The AW86938 also has some extra features that aren't implemented
in this driver yet.

In all cases in which a struct acpi_driver is used for binding a driver
to an ACPI device object, a corresponding platform device is created by
the ACPI core and that device is regarded as a proper representation of
underlying hardware. Accordingly, a struct platform_driver should be
used by driver code to bind to that device. There are multiple reasons
why drivers should not bind directly to ACPI device objects [1].
Overall, it is better to bind drivers to platform devices than to their
ACPI companions, so convert the ACPI Atlas button driver to a platform
one.
While this is not expected to alter functionality, it changes sysfs
layout and so it will be visible to user space.

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using
git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'
to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.
Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.
For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:
Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)
Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)
Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)
(where TYPE may also be *VAR)
The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

The driver acquires the 'vbat' regulator during probing but never enables
it. Consequently, in the suspend method, the driver disables the regulator
without enabling it first, causing an 'Unbalanced regulator_disable()'
error.
Enable the regulator in the probe() method and add the remove() method with
regulator disabling to fix this.
