2026-07-03Replace <linux/mod_devicetable.h> by more specific <linux/device-id/*.h> (c ↵Uwe Kleine-König (The Capable Hub)
files) Replace the #include of <linux/mod_devicetable.h> by the more specific <linux/device-id/*.h> where applicable. For most cases the include can be dropped completely, only a few drivers need one or two headers added. 2026-06-23rtc: msc313: fix NULL deref in shared IRQ handler at probeStepan Ionichev
msc313_rtc_probe() calls devm_request_irq() with IRQF_SHARED and &pdev->dev as the cookie, but platform_set_drvdata() is only called later after the clock setup. With a shared IRQ line, another device on the same line can trigger the handler in that window. The handler does dev_get_drvdata() on the cookie, gets NULL, and dereferences priv->rtc_base in interrupt context. Pass priv as the cookie directly so the handler reads it from dev_id without the lookup, removing the dependency on probe order. 2022-12-11rtc: msc313: Fix function prototype mismatch in msc313_rtc_probe()Kees Cook
With clang's kernel control flow integrity (kCFI, CONFIG_CFI_CLANG), indirect call targets are validated against the expected function pointer prototype to make sure the call target is valid to help mitigate ROP attacks. If they are not identical, there is a failure at run time, which manifests as either a kernel panic or thread getting killed. msc313_rtc_probe() was passing clk_disable_unprepare() directly, which did not have matching prototypes for devm_add_action_or_reset()'s callback argument. Refactor to use devm_clk_get_enabled() instead. This was found as a result of Clang's new -Wcast-function-type-strict flag, which is more sensitive than the simpler -Wcast-function-type, which only checks for type width mismatches. 2021-10-01rtc: msc313: Fix unintentional sign extension issues with left shift of a u16Colin Ian King
Shifting the u16 value returned by readw by 16 bits to the left will be promoted to a 32 bit signed int and then sign-extended to an unsigned long. If the top bit of the readw is set then the shifted value will be sign extended and the top 32 bits of the result will be set.
