2026-07-05iio: inkern: Use namespaced exportsRomain Gantois
Use namespaced exports for IIO consumer API functions. This will make it easier to manage the IIO export surface. Consumer drivers will only be provided access to a specific set of functions, thereby restricting usage of internal IIO functions by other parts of the kernel. This change cannot be split into several parts without breaking bisectability, thus all of the affected drivers are modified at once. 2026-04-08ASoC: stm32_sai: fix incorrect BCLK polarity for DSP_A/B, LEFT_JTomasz Merta
The STM32 SAI driver do not set the clock strobing bit (CKSTR) for DSP_A, DSP_B and LEFT_J formats, causing data to be sampled on the wrong BCLK edge when SND_SOC_DAIFMT_NB_NF is used. Per ALSA convention, NB_NF requires sampling on the rising BCLK edge. The STM32MP25 SAI reference manual states that CKSTR=1 is required for signals received by the SAI to be sampled on the SCK rising edge. Without setting CKSTR=1, the SAI samples on the falling edge, violating the NB_NF convention. For comparison, the NXP FSL SAI driver correctly sets FSL_SAI_CR2_BCP for DSP_A, DSP_B and LEFT_J, consistent with its I2S handling. This patch adds SAI_XCR1_CKSTR for DSP_A, DSP_B and LEFT_J in stm32_sai_set_dai_fmt which was verified empirically with a cs47l35 codec. RIGHT_J (LSB) is not investigated and addressed by this patch. Note: the STM32 I2S driver (stm32_i2s_set_dai_fmt) may have the same issue for DSP_A mode, as I2S_CGFR_CKPOL is not set. This has not been verified and is left for a separate investigation. The reference taken to the sync provider OF node when probing the platform device is currently only dropped if the set_sync() callback fails during DAI probe. 2025-11-06ASoC: stm32: dfsdm: don't use %pK through printkThomas Weißschuh
In the past %pK was preferable to %p as it would not leak raw pointer values into the kernel log. Since commit ad67b74d2469 ("printk: hash addresses printed with %p") the regular %p has been improved to avoid this issue. Furthermore, restricted pointers ("%pK") were never meant to be used through printk(). They can still unintentionally leak raw pointers or acquire sleeping locks in atomic contexts. 2025-09-26ASoC: stm32: sai: manage context in set_sysclk callbackOlivier Moysan
The mclk direction now needs to be specified in endpoint node with "system-clock-direction-out" property. However some calls to the set_sysclk callback, related to CPU DAI clock, result in unbalanced calls to clock API. The set_sysclk callback in STM32 SAI driver is intended only for mclk management. So it is relevant to ensure that calls to set_sysclk are related to mclk only. Since the master clock is handled only at runtime, skip the calls to set_sysclk in the initialization phase. Some pci_ functions can be sometimes managed with devres, which is obviously bad. We want to provide an obvious API, where pci_ functions are never, and pcim_ functions are always managed. Thus, everyone enabling his device with pcim_enable_device() must be ported to pcim_ functions. Porting all users will later enable us to significantly simplify parts of the PCI subsystem. 2025-05-01ASoC: stm32: sai: add a check on minimal kernel frequencyOlivier Moysan
On MP2 SoCs SAI kernel clock rate is managed through stm32_sai_set_parent_rate() function. If the kernel clock rate was set previously to a low frequency, this frequency may be too low to support the newly requested audio stream rate. However the stm32_sai_rate_accurate() will only check accuracy against the maximum kernel clock rate. The function will return leaving the kernel clock rate unchanged. 2024-11-08ASoC: stm32: sai: add stm32mp25 supportOlivier Moysan
Add STM32MP25 support for STM32 SAI. On STM32MP25 the SAI driver does not manage SAI kernel clock rate by chosing its parent clock, dependending on audio stream rate. The driver requests a rate change on SAI kernel clock instead. This rate change is performed with the following guidelines: - Chose highest rate multiple of the audio stream (Try to get clock accuracy within 1000 ppm) - Ensure clock rate compatibility between SAI sub-blocks A&B and between instances sharing the same flexgen. Use clk_rate_exclusive API to fulfill this requirement. The STM32 SAI peripheral does not support the DMA burst mode on STM32MP25. Add a field in compatible structure to manage DMA burst support capability. 2024-10-01{ASoC,media}: constify snd_soc_component_driverMark Brown
Merge series from Javier Carrasco <javier.carrasco.cruz@gmail.com>: Declare `snd_soc_component_driver` as const to move their declarations to read-only sections for the drivers that do not modify the struct after its declaration. Apart from a single case under media/, the affected drivers are members of the ASoC subsystem.
2024-09-30ASoC: constify snd_soc_component_driver structJavier Carrasco
Declare `snd_soc_component_driver` as const to move it to a read-only section for the drivers that do not modify the struct after its declaration. The affected drivers only pass this struct to `devm_snd_soc_register_component()`, whose argument is const and therefore does not modify the content of the struct. 2024-09-09ASoC: Switch back to struct platform_driver::remove()Uwe Kleine-König
After commit 0edb555a65d1 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove() return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for platform drivers. Convert all drivers below sound/soc to use .remove(), with the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As .remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done by just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer. 2023-09-01ASoC: dmaengine: Drop unused iov_iter for process callbackTakashi Iwai
Passing the iov_iter to the process callback is rather buggy, as the iterator has been already processed for playback. Similarly, it makes the copy for capture buggy after the process callback reading the iterator out. Moreover, all existing process callbacks don't refer to the passed iterator at all. So, it's better to drop the argument from the process callback. 2023-08-18ASoC: dmaengine: Use iov_iter for process callback, tooTakashi Iwai
Along with the conversion to PCM copy ops, use the iov_iter for the pointer to be passed to the dmaengine process callback, too. It avoids the direct reference of iter_iov_addr(), and it can potentially help for the drivers to access memory properly (although both atmel and stm drivers don't use the given buffer address at all for now).
